I have made a Fish Guide like the one in the game. A bit more information is added though and I hope this will help you get the information you need when you are trying to catch fish or completing your log. I really want this to be the go to place for fishers when looking for information on where and how to catch fish. The guide looks exactly like the one in the game but you will also find a "best setup" that is meant as a recomendation on how to best catch the fish. This may always be up for debate but if you disagree please write it in the comments and let everyone know. I am planning on adding a dropdown-list that will make it easier to go to a specific fish but the address bar is really helpful until then. Just write the #name-of-the-fish (replacing spaces with "-"). I have not yet entered best setup for all the fish but it will come in the coming days. I have entered for almost half and I have tried to focus on the most interesting fish as these are the ones people need to know how to find. I really hope you will make use of this new feature. You can find it here: Final Fantasy XIV Fish Guide Many different updates to the site 10/16/2013 3:14:45 PM So I finally got to make a lot of updates and get them online. As some of them are jscript updates a ctrl+r might be needed. FFXIV Gathering Maps: I have made a lot of updates to the maps. First of all I have added more or less all mining and botany locations so these are to be found as well as the fishing locations. I have added more information to the locations which will give you information about level, nearest aetheryte, stats needed to take benefit of the bonuses at the different locations (Gathering Rate, extra gathering attemps etc.). Level of the items along with names can now be seen as well. All in all this gives a much better insight into what is to be expected when looking for places to gather. Resource finder: This tool has also had a major update. The tool is now based on the information from the maps and it should be much easier to find the things you need as it is also possible to get a link to the location on the maps. FFXIV Clock: Finally I have been able to calculate the ingame time and you will be able to see this in the menu on all pages. The clock is also a link to a page. So far this page only displays the clock (and some description) but in the future I plan to add information about things happening in the game if they are depending on the time of the day. This is things like Sunrise, Sunset and of course unspoiled nodes. I hope this is something that will become useful down the line once I get some more information collected about these. All in all I feel good about this update and I hope that it will bring you a lot of information needed. Happy gaming and gathering all :D FFXIV Maps are now online again 8/22/2013 4:02:18 PM Hi all... I finally got them made. The maps for Final Fantasy XIV are now online. It has taken some time but I have been unable to find maps that were usable but just this week I was able to pull the from the game files. I would like to add some comments to the maps as they are now. First of all: There are 73 maps so far. I believe I have found all locations but if not let me know and I will see what I can do. Some of the maps are interesting and some of them are not. Obviously big maps like Central Thanalan, Eastern La Noscea or North Shroud hold some value on their own but maps like The Navel, Mizzenmast Inn or Command Room may not be all that interesting as they are no more than a room. So far there is no information in the maps. I have made some connection on the world map and I strive to get all the places you zone in order for the launch of FFXIV this Saturday. In the future of course loads of features will be implemented, mostly concerning gathering but I may find other uses as well once I get more data. I hope that these maps will help you once the game starts and that you will use them a lot and please have patience while I find more data for you to explore... Guides and wallpapers 8/8/2013 10:04:08 AM Just wanted to let you all know that I have made some updates to the site. This time some wallpapers have been added. I love wallpapers and I think that these look great. Most are official from SE and some I have found. Maybe more interesting is the new guide section. I have added a new page where you will be able to read guides or add your own. So far there is only one and this has been made by Truvy. It is a gathering guide (of course :) and will give you some insight into gathering in Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn. It is a great guide and I think you should go there and give it some upvotes. Once 2.0 is released and we get to play some more I too will be adding some guides. I just saw the live letter to day and fishing is now back in the game and it looks interesting. We have all been waiting eagerly for this and now we are finally getting close. I have also made some other minor changes here and there and I hope you will like it all. Resource finder is online (and small corrections) 7/11/2013 8:00:57 AM OK. So I have been working on implementing the resource finder once again. I know it has been a popular feature in the past and now that Orophin had gathered so much data I have tried to make this easily accessible. The resource finder will let you enter certain criteria and based on these you will get a list of items available. I hope that you will like this and it will help you when running around Eorzea gathering. So far you will only find mining data up to level 35 as the higher levels only have placeholders. I am going to insert data for botany up to level 35 as well within the very near future. I have also made some small corrections to the site here and there and maybe you will see them and maybe you wont but I want to let you know that we are trying to make the site as best as possible all the time and even though we don't post a lot of news things are happening in the background. I hope you are all enjoying the beta and that you are as thrilled as me that it already started on a Wednesday this time. DisciplesOfTheLand.com ver. 2.0 6/15/2013 3:25:33 AM Major update to the site as we start phase 3 of the Final Fantasy XIV beta. A lot of changes have been made but mostly are actually a step back as we really lack information. Most of the features are gone: item database, recipes, maps etc are all gone and all that is left is more or less the forum. But... we will get it all up and running again as time goes by. As always we are mostly focused on the aspects that concerns gathering but crafting and general information will also be a big part of the site I am very excited about this new site and I hope you will like it. You will see some changes in the near future as I am not all finished with the looks of the site. I wanted to get this live as soon as possible and all in all the update is mainly a forum update. I would like to thank you all for visiting and all support is appreciated :D Kida The site has been updated to patch 1.23 7/30/2012 7:56:04 AM So another patch has been implemented by SE. I have updated the database to reflect all the new items added, you can see the complete list of items added to FFXIV in patch 1.23 here. I have also added the recipes from this patch to the database. I have not made many changes to the site lately as I have been on vacation and rather busy at work but I were able to find information on HQ item stats in the files so these have been added now. This means you can see what stats are added when making a high quality item. Besides this not much is new. We are approaching 3,500 members which is something that makes me really happy. I am so grateful for all who have joined the site and I hope we will continue growing once 2.0 hits. I hope you all will enjoy the site and Final Fantasy XIV. See you soon. All the items from 1.22 and 1.22a and ALL RECIPES 5/11/2012 3:17:58 PM So some changes have been made to the site once again... And good changes they are ^^ First of all the items of patch 1.22 and 1.22a were added. This happened last week and yesterday. There are quite a lot of new items and they can be seen on the lists page. The changes to gathering have also been added to the Final Fantasy XIV gathering maps but some items still remain as we are missing some resource points in Nine Ivies... this will be added as soon as possible. What is just as exiting is that I finally got around to adding all recipes so all you FFXIV crafters can now find any recipe you may desire. All in all 5367 recipes have been added to the database and that is the exact amount that can be found on the lodestone. I am really happy that this has been done as the recipes were really outdated and a lot were missing. The interface on this site for recipes in Final Fantasy XIV has also changed making it lighter and more agile. You should be able to sort the recipes and find the ones you really need. I still have some issues with the ranks of the recipes as they are listed in a 10 level range on the lodestone. I know the excellent guys at Mooglebox have cracked this and I am looking into how this may be done. If you have any advice let me know. Other than that you will see some small changes to the site here and there. I hope you will like it. Updates to the site 4/16/2012 8:50:49 AM I got another update of the site done. Once again I have changed the menu a little adding a new item named "Lists". Here I have collected the lists that may have interest for all of you. I didn't have much room left in the menu and I have added some things (see more below) so I wanted to collect them in one place. First of all you will find the list of items to hand in to guilds. This list has not changed but been removed from the menu and moved to the lists page The next list is a new one that has been talked about a lot in the forums. This is the Grand Company Items list. Here you can find what the Grand Companies are requesting this week along with information on rewarded seals and maximum number of items that can be turned in. I have not been able to check if the list changes at the same time as it actually does in the game so give me a heads up if I have done this at the wrong time. Then I will correct it. The last list is a list of sweetspots of gathered items in Final Fantasy XIV. This is just a quick list of all the items that can be fished, mined or logged in the game. You can sort the lists by clicking the headers. I thought this would be handy when gathering. Besides these lists I have also added a donate button in the top right corner. If you have a spare coin and feel you are getting some great information from this site feel free to send me something. All donations are appreciated and I will put your name on the front page as a thank you. The server that run the site costs me money every month and the adds on the site does not cover it all so a little help is appreciated. I have removed the server status from the frontpage as this was not giving any useful information. I hope no one will miss this to much but I have not been able to get this working (as I can see is the case for many other websites). Lastly I have removed the search in the top right corner. This was causing a lot of troubles on a lot of pages and as it wasn't really working removing it seemed like the only right thing to do. I will see if I can make another search soon but I also have a ton of other plans so it may not be straight away. But that was all for this update. I hope you will like the changes and let me know if you have any requests or errors that need to be corrected. Oh and by the way... if you are on Masamune be sure to look me up as the linkshell is taking of and we are looking for members :D Updating the Final Fantasy XIV database to patch 1.21 3/12/2012 5:19:45 PM Ok So I finally got the database updated to reflect how Final Fantasy XIV looks after patch 1.21. All in all 331 items were added and you can see them all here: Items of Final Fantasy XIV patch 1.21 I am going to update the maps tomorrow to reflect the changes that have happened to gathering. A lot of items are now being gathered in other areas and new items have been added. No changes to fishing so no need for updating this. Further more I am going to try to get all the recipes into the database. I know I have said this before but I really want to get it done this time as there are many incorrect recipes in the database now. Also I bet there are a lot of users out there who wants to know how to make the new jewelry. That is all for now. I hope you will enjoy the updates ;D Updates to items and site in general 12/30/2011 8:42:08 AM Hi all. I hope you all had a merry Christmas. I have been working on the new interface for items and I really hope that you will like it. It is meant to be faster and easier to find the items you need in the database. I have also made som changes to the menu as some things were not working out as they should. I removed some items, rearranged the remaining and I hope it has improved the general navigation of the site. I found that only one in 250 visitors clicked the news link at the top so I thought it better to remove it all together. Also I have fixed the log so now you can add your findings once again when you use the maps. I was lucky to be able to get this done before the new year so now I would like to wish you all a very happy new year and I hope to see you next year. Added all of the 1.19 FFXIV recipes 11/5/2011 3:14:23 PM So after patch 1.19 there was a ton of new recipes and they where all given on the lodestone. I was able to put them all in the database so more than 1000 new recipes have been added. I was not able to get rank for all recipes so if you have any information on these please leave a note when viewing the item or add a correction in the forums. Thanks. I hope that this will help you make some of those items that were added in the latest patch and get your crafting classes leveled up on some new items. More updates to the site (languages and Materia) 10/10/2011 7:28:33 AM So I have been able to find some more information on Materia in the game. This is information on the stats that an item will get if Materia is attached to it. If you look up a Materia in the game you will get this information presented. Also I have been able to make a much better versioning of the site depending on the language you select. This means that you will get better information on the items if you have another language than English. I should add that not all texts have been implemented as I need to translate a bit more. And good news to all our Japanese users. Japanese has also been implemented. I hope you will like it :D FFXIV Patch 1.19 information live 10/6/2011 8:24:40 AM Yay... I must admit that I am rather proud to say that the entire database has been updated with all items from the new patch. I have all the new stats (a lot was changed) and images of more or less all items. I must say that what makes me even more proud is that I can see that none of the major sites have been able to achieve this. I know that Zam is close but they don't have images and their stats are wrong. I will also add that the FFXIV Resource Maps have been updated with information from the lodestone. This means that you will now get accurate information on what to gather in Eorzea. I am currently looking into the recipes of the patch. I am not quite sure how I am going to do this but I hope I will be able to get some revisions to the recipes currently in the database as these are now all more or less dated. Now go and check the new Ifrit weapon. FFXIV patch 1.19 is here 10/5/2011 1:34:59 AM So the latest patch is implemented and a lot of changes have been made. I am currently extracting the data from the game files and I hope to have the database updated soon. When the database is updated with all the new items I am going to update the maps. All areas have had it's content changed but I have made some scripts that should update them. When all of this is done (and if everything works out as planned it shouldn't be too long) I am going to give all the new recipes a look and try to get them implemented. So now you know what is planned for the site in the very near future. I will keep you all updated as best I can. Now sit down and play some Final Fantasy XIV as this patch should make things a lot more interesting. Chocobos here I come :D (well when the updating is done). New features: Guild items and small corrections 8/23/2011 9:41:23 AM I know it has been a long time since I last announced any updates but this does luckily not mean that there hasn't been any. The server status has been updated with information from Zam. Unfortunately two servers still lack information so they are constantly shown as offline :( I apologize. The front page has also been rearranged leaving more information on what's going on in the forum Besides other very small changes here and there the largest addition to the site is the Guild Item Table. Viciuos asked for this feature in the forums so asking helps :D With the guild item table you are able to see what items should currently be turned in to the guilds. So if you are a sucker for handing in items you will no longer need to go to the guild to know what to turn in. This means that you can stay where you are and craft or gather the items needed and THEN go to the guild. I hope that this feature will help you and that you will please spread the word. Other than that not much is new. I am still working on getting the latest items imported in the database and I hope I will have them ready before patch 1.19 LOL If not you will get all the items after this has been implemented. Please enjoy the game and the site. I really think Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) is getting better all the time. Also let me know if you have other features you would like to have implmented. New update: Recipes have been changed and added 6/14/2011 7:22:36 AM Hi all... once again we have news about an update to the site. This time focus has been on recipes. I have made a new framework as the old one was made a long time ago and I didn't know all the things about recipes that I know now. The site should reflect these changes and work a bit faster and the recipes now have a lot more information that was not found before. Also: I have added a LOT of recipes to the database so if you are into DoH you will now be able to see what recipes you should focus on and find information on how to make more or less anything. The main reason for this extensive work on recipes is that I want to include it in the android app I am working on. I am able to work a bit on the app now and then but it takes a long time and unfortunately I don't have much. I really hope that you will like all the work I but into these recipes. In the future I am planning a way to submit changes to recipes and a way for you to submit information on new recipes as well. For now the forum will have to be used. To see all the recipes go here and if you want to read more about the android app go here. New overhaul to the ffxiv database 5/26/2011 8:10:04 AM So I have once again been working overtime to get the database updated and complete. This has now been accomplished and if I was proud of the last update this one is really making me explode. All items in the game should now be included. All in all that is 4280 items I have been able to find. More or less all of them have images and all stats are included as well. Information on sweetspots are included and we have information about the resourcepoints where gathered items can be obtained. All in all this should make playing Final Fantasy XIV a bit easier. I hope that the database provided will be able to compete with some of the larger players out there like Zam and YG. I know that we have a lot of information missing (recipes, abilities, leves etc.) but I believe we are getting there. Also, please notice that I have included languages: German and French. I will say that the site is not translated but all the names and descriptions of the two languages are used. It will also be used when searching the site. I have mentioned that I am working on an Android app. I have changed the structure of the database to make this easier and now that we have a complete database this will be the foundation of the app. I really hope that you will all enjoy this updated Final Fantasy XIV Database and that you will be provided with information not found any where else on the net. New and updated database of items in Final Fantasy XIV 5/5/2011 6:50:38 AM I have very exciting news. I know not much has changed for a long time but I have been working hard on expanding the database and make it as precise and informative as possible. First of all: A LOT of items have been added (more than 2000) and I have updated all the images so they are big and beautiful :D There is still some information I need to add but the completeness of the database has drastically improved and I am working on making it even better. Secondly: A lot of new stats have been added to the system making it possible to make a more accurate search and getting better information about the items. This means that the item database now has a lot more option than just the first letter of the items. I have also added the option to make comments for items. If you have some interesting information please add it and let other people know what you know. Information about items found in the different areas has also been improved so people easily will know what can be obtained when gathering in the area. I have also made changes to the resource finder to make it more efficient. It was very slow and needed to be simplified. That means less information is found on the page but you should go to the item page itself to get the full picture. I am working on adding better information about bait and lures and hope to have this ready as soon as possible. I hope you will enjoy all the changes made and that you will use it as much as possible. New guide about fishing in Final Fantasy XIV 2/7/2011 8:03:39 AM We have added a guide to the site. This is the Guide to Fishing in Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV). The guide has information on how to get started as a fisher in Final Fantasy XIV and get all the way to rank 50. We cover the basics and explain how to get the most out of the class. The guide is a compilation of all the information that could be relevant as fisher. We have information on what you could use all the fish for either as a culinarian or as an alchemist as well as information on what gear to use and where to be at certain ranks. If you have never tried fishing in Final Fantasy XIV this will be the perfect place to start but there will also be information for the seasoned fisherman, even the high ranking ones. A lot of time has been put in to the guide but as always with anything about online gaming it is a guide that will evolve and we will keep updating it. New information will be uncovered all the time and we plan to add this information to the guide once it has been proved to be relevant information. We really hope that you will enjoy the guide and learn something new. Lots of updates to DisciplesOfTheLand.com 1/26/2011 11:18:45 AM We have made a lot of changes for all you people who love mining, fishing and logging in Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV). First of all a new script has been implemented to display the clock in the game on the site. The clock is now more accurate and the moonphases are displayed a lot faster on the site. We have also added a leve reset count down that will let you know when you can start new leves if you have done them all. We have also made some major changes to the maps. First of all results are not displayed in a popup any more. I found it rather annoying that you had to close the window all the time. The trade off has been that information on bait is no longer displayed but must be found by going to the item page of the fish. Another change to the map is that the type of points filtered is no longer picked with a dropdownlist but with check boxes. What this means is that you can select more than one type when filtering and this will let you pick both primary and secondary nodes when equiping a DoL class. The final change to the maps is that the log is opened in a popup instead of below the map as this made more sense. Some were not able to see the log and this way the map is not reset when a log is made. Those are the major changes and besides those we have made several small changes and corrections to improve the experience of the site. We hope that you will enjoy the updates and that the site is getting better because of them. New FFXIV Log integrated with maps 12/11/2010 5:00:33 PM A new log has been made and today it went live. The new log should be a lot easier to use as it is based on the maps and remembers the settings of the user. This means that information on grade and location no longer need to be entered as this is given already when a resource point is chosen. Information on tools and rank of the different classes of the user is also remembered adding to the ease of logging the items you find. The main purpose of the log is to locate all the items in the game and building a database and map that can help anyone find exactly what is needed. Other purposes of the log is to decode the information about depth, moonphase, weather and so on so we through analysis can find out when the most opportune moments for gathering are. Read more about it here Resource maps for Coerthas, La Noscea, Thanalan, Black Shroud and Mor Dhona in FFXIV 11/4/2010 6:28:37 PM Now you are able to find the resource points of Final Fantasy XIV. We have added maps that in time will display all the resource points of FFXIV. So far the moderators of the site have added a lot of information in a very short time (thanks all) and we have some places for you to go. You can also filter the maps to get them to display the information you need. So far you can filter by item, grade and type. This enables you to find fx. grade 5 fishing spots or mining spots containing copper ore. If you are looking for a certain item just enter that and you will get all the points where this item can be obtained. We really hope that you will enjoy these maps. We will work on them to bring you even more information. If you have feedback or corrections please register at the forum. Now you can log harvesting, quarry and spearfishing in Final Fantasy XIV 10/8/2010 3:37:41 AM It has been a while since I last made updates to the site but it is now possible to log more information in the DoL log. Spearfishing, quarry and harvesting can now be logged along with fishing, mining and logging. A lot of people have requested that it be possible to log the secondary gathering methods as well so this has been implemented. There is not as much information when using second gathering methods as these are a lot simpler. That being said it would still be great to know where the items can be obtained so please log these as well. So far we have more than 5250 logs in the database. I would like to thank all people who have participated. I have been looking at the rows and I hope to soon give you some stats here on the site. I have been rather busy with work lately but hope to find some more time soon. Lastly I would like to add that the linkshell on Wutai is gathering momentum and more people are joining all the time. It has been a pleasure to see how people help each other and get some great conversations going. Stats are now shown on area pages. 9/30/2010 4:28:37 PM I tried to update the site earlier and it resulted in an unfortunate error on the site. Don't even really know what I did wrong but it has been corrected now and the site has been updated. I hope that you will like the new server status on the frontpage. I didn't want a full blown page dedicated to server status so I thought this would fit well. Hoover your mouse over the icons to see the name of the server. Then take a look at areas. All those logs you have worked so hard to enter into the database are now coming to fruition. I have listed all things that have been gathered in the different areas along with how many of each. I will make some better and more usable statistics but I thought this would be a start. I have also removed the count down to release as we are now all able to get in the game. I moved the Eorzea clock down beside the moonphases and removed the IRL clock as I thought is was a bit unnecessary (most have a clock anyway). New updates to the log and frontpage 9/27/2010 3:19:37 PM So we have expanded the log quite a bit since I last wrote news. Previously you were only to able things you found through fishing but we have now added the ability to log results from mining and logging as well. You are also able to delete or edit your logs if you have made errors. This should keep some of the errors out of the database. The last thing that has been added to the log is the ability to export your own findings. You can get all your logs in a CSV file. This can then be edited as you like in fx. Excel or other spreadsheet program. Finally we have made some additions to the front page. News don't get as much space any more as I wanted to celebrate the people contributing to the site. There are a lot of people who put in a huge effort to get the database filled with information. This is either through logging their findings or editing and adding items to the database and list of recipes. So the most active loggers and moderators have been added to the front page. Please recognize their efforts. That's all for now. I hope you enjoy the game and have done a lot of DoL activities. Please keep up the excellent effort. Recorder for Final Fantasy XIV is online 9/22/2010 4:36:45 PM We have now started the recorder. What this means is that you can record anything about the fish you just caught. Later we will make it look a bit nicer, make it possible to export your own data and help improve the database. So please ... start recording (registered members only). Also as the game has now been released I can say that the server of DisciplesOfTheLand is Wutai. Look for Kida Kalastus if you want to join us. I will get you a linkpearl. Finally there have been some small improvements to the site and we hope you enjoy it :D Now let me get back to the game... Moon phases of Final Fantasy XIV 9/20/2010 7:53:01 AM So we have implemented moon phases and I hope you like it. You can see them at the top of the page below the title. The countdown is to when the given phase will start and Current is well.. the current phase. Open beta is at an end and we are now all waiting for release in a couple of days. I hope you have made your order for Final Fantasy XIV. Whether you get the CE or the regular edition I hope that you will use the site and it will help you find what you need as a Disciple of the land. I am getting the game on the 22nd and will be online as much as I can. The server of Disciples of the Land will be Wutai and the linkshell will be called Disciples of the Land. I hope that I will be able to give out linkshell pearls to as many as possible but I will mainly play European evenings and I may need someone to be able to hand out pearls to the American players. Send me a PM if you are interested in helping out with this. I am looking forwards to seeing you all in the game soon :D Final Fantasy XIV Areas are now updated 9/11/2010 9:09:03 AM Some updates have been made lately. Primarily the areas are now much easier to navigate as all are displayed on the first page and the a to z list has been dropped. Also the items that can be found in any given area are now displayed. This way it is easy to find out what can be obtained in any given area. < Besides this some minor changes have been made to the resource finder that now displays the rank of items. This way it is easy to see whether or not you have the rank to obtain this item. Just remember that this is the optimal rank and many items can be obtained even though your rank is lower. We have also added information on whether or not fish are found in schools or by regular fishing. Some fish may only be found in an area if you are fishing schools found using Gulleye. So remember to check whether or not the fish is only obtainable through schools as you could otherwise waste a lot of time trying to get something that you can't catch. Other than that I just want to let you know that a lot of people are working very hard to get the database as updated as possible. A big thanks goes out to these guys :D Complete recipe and new resource finder 9/6/2010 4:15:43 PM Once again it's time to take a look at the updates made to the site. First of all I would like to tell you about the complete recipe list. Now you are able to see exactly what is needed in order to make an item from scratch. When you see a recipe click the link "Complete Recipe" and you will get a tree view of all the items needed and the recipes for these items etc. Also you will now what skills are needed and what disciples are able to make the items. Check out any item with a recipe and you will be able to see this new feature. Next I am going to talk to you about the resource finder. We have added a ton of new items to the database and we are in the process of mapping information on which areas the items can be found, what tools can be used and what tackle fish will bite on. We are now going to work on the items that can be mined as this is still a bit lacking. Other than that I just want to tell all the new registered members that we are very happy to see you and that we hope you will enjoy the hard work a lot of people are putting in to make this the best database for Final Fantasy XIV and Disciples of the Land. Updates made to the site... especially for moderators 8/28/2010 6:27:59 PM So once again a rain of updates have poured down on the site. Mainly the update has focused on the fact that many items have many bases. An example is Hempen Cloth that comes in Mole-Brown, Lead-Grey and others. Instead of making an item for each of these as the only difference is cosmetic I have made each item in the database able to contain many bases. This means that more than one image can be uploaded for each item. It also means that the recipes will have to reflect these changes. I am not completely done with this but basically you would chose a base for the recipe as well as an item. This also goes for ingredients. Other than that I have made some minor corrections to the code and made it easier for moderators to edit and add to items. As always this is a working process and there will come more changes in the close future. Now you can find the resources of Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) 8/24/2010 5:55:23 PM Man... we have been working on the site. And a lot of changes have been made. For items we can now add areas, fishingtools, and tackle. Items (especially fish) are therefore now possible to find from certain criteria. So... The resource finder is now online for fish. This means that you can plot in the information available to you and see what fish you can expect to catch. Unfortunately we don't have that much information about the fish and areas yet so it is somewhat limited but we hope to mend this during the next short time. We have also made some cosmetic changes to the way recipes are displayed when viewing an item. I hope you will all like it. There may come a lot of changes to the way items are displayed. As we mentioned before all information is displayed at the moment and this is not very smart as information needed may be hard to spot. Finally the search button in the corner is now working making it possible to find items by name. Quick and easy. We hope that you will like the new features and the corrections we have made to the site. We continue to work on making this the best site for finding information in Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV). If you are not yet a member please go and register as we need as many people here as possible. Loads of new items and recipes from Final Fantasy XIV now added 8/19/2010 5:21:54 PM Once again we have worked hard to add more content that you can throw a stick at. More than 400 items are now in the database and recipes are also slowly starting to find it's way into the database. We have added a lot of information to items and think we are close to have found all the attributes an item can have even though some may still be lurking in the corridors. Bet we will have to change it all once we hit September 22. But please check out some of the items that have been included in the database. I would like to thank Vid for his big help in getting us up and running. He has been an enormous help. The interface for finding recipes are also up and working. It may be brushed up a bit bit the essential information is there. Now we just need some more recipes :D You can check it out here. Lastly I would like to inform you that we are on twitter. If you would like to follow us go here: Twitter: KidaTheDisciple. Please retweet if you find some of the information interesting. We would like the word to spread out that this is the best source for Fishing, Harvesting, Mining AND Crafting in Final Fantasy XIV. Cheers. Items in the database can now be viewed 8/17/2010 4:54:45 PM We have worked a lot in order to get items and recipes to you guys. So far you can see a list of all the items in the database if you select items in the menu above. Chose a letter in order to get the items starting with this letter. When viewing an item you will get a lot of information and at the moment it may be that we are displaying way to much. I think we will make it more approachable in the future so only the needed information is included. Fx. you don't need to see that there are no recipes if the item isn't crafted. But please go take a look at all the items we have added to the database. As you know this is a working process and we will make adjustments once we know better what is needed. The next project is to get the recipes in to the database. We have a long list of recipes we need to add but first we need to get the framework in order and make it easy to find the exact recipe you are looking for. I hope you will enjoy it and let me know if there are things that make no sense at all. We really want your feedback so use the forum and let us know. And now... back to the programming... Fishing is now a part of Final Fantasy XIV 8/12/2010 6:05:46 AM With the 3rd phase of beta for Final Fantasy XIV the fisher has been added to the game. I have found yet another video from Rocs Lock on you tube. Check out how fishing works.Remember this is beta and may not be the way it works once we get to release but it's interesting anyway. Oh... and notice how he uses Lug worm and he catches a Tiger Cod... great info to get :D Updates to the design of the site 8/10/2010 4:59:49 PM We agreed that the design of the site was not quite what we wanted so as you can see there have been some updates. We really hope that you like the new feel of the site and that it will make for a better experience. We think this is a bit more in line with what Final Fantasy is about. All in all development of the site is going well but we keep the data hidden as we don't want to break the NDA and get in trouble with SE and Final Fantasy before the game is even released :P Also remember to check the news about getting keys to Final Fantasy XIV beta phase three. You still have some time to get in on this but you will have to hurry. Final Fantasy XIV Beta Key Give away 8/9/2010 7:31:35 AM If you didn't already get a beta key there are at the moment different ways of obtaining one. Firstly you are able to get one from ZAM. Go to ZAM here if you have a North American Square Enix account. Be there before the 11th of August in order to enter the give away. FFXIVCore is offering a similar deal so try that out here. A lot of German sites are also giving out keys. These are on a first come first served basis so hurry up and try to get one. They are offered at a lot of different sites so why not check them all out: GameStar buffed.de PC-Games.de anifo.de Good luck to all who gives it a try and remember to hurry up as there are not that many available. Mining in Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) 8/5/2010 3:19:13 AM This time the video is about mining. The method of mining is very close to the one used for logging. We are getting more information all the time and this system looks a lot more interesting than the one used in FFXI. Let's hope that goes for fishing as well. We are trying to find a movie about this but it is hard to come by. But enjoy this one that reveals how mining works. Another movie about harvesting in FFXIV 8/2/2010 3:52:07 AM Siamtony found another video about logging in FFXIV. It looks as though there have been made some changes as the logging is much faster this time round. Get a look at how the process of logging is in Final Fantasy XIV: Great movie of harvesting in FFXIV 7/30/2010 3:07:02 AM New member Siamtony found this video on youtube that really shows how harvesting works. Take a look: We have some items in the database 7/28/2010 5:14:57 PM Hi All Great news. I was able to find some recipes online. I am not saying that these are 100 percent accurate and we can't garauntee that they will be in the final game but they do seem very legimate. This has given us some data to work with and soon we will be able to display them properly on this page. So far they can only be seen on the front page. We have been working on getting items in to the database as easily as possible and are trying out some different methods. So far this is not something that can be seen on the site but please have patience... go talk in the forum instead ;) More work to the site 7/24/2010 1:26:16 PM Some small changes has been made to the layout and some small changes to the forum and the way that is set up. We are also working on the datastructure and we hope that it will match that of the game. We are making it as basic as possible to be able to quickly make changes to the system. It will not be long until we are able to insert information into the system. Only problem is we don't have any information to enter yet :P We continue to work on making this the best site for crafting in Final Fantasy XIV. Starting the building of the site 7/19/2010 11:27:43 AM Hi all... we have now started creating the site. We hope that you will like what you see so far. We have a forum for all of you to enjoy so get over there and register and start some discussions. As you can read this it is also clear that we have the news section up and running to let you know what's going on with the site.Unlike Final Fishing that we created almost 7 years ago we are this time focusing on all the "Disciples of the Land" ;) This means that we will also cover mining and harvesting as well as fishing in Final Fantasy XIV. We hope that it will be a great success and that we can help a lot of gamers find the excact resource they need on Final Fantasy XIV.The aim will be to make a resource finder much like the fishing database on Final Fishing. This time you will just be able to insert variables about all the Disciplines of the Land. This way you will be able to be in some area with some equipment and find out what is available to you... or the other way around... you need some item... where will you need to go and what will you need to bring in order to obtain it.We hope you will enjoy Disciples of the Land and Final Fantasy XIV. We now we will do our best to help you out. Now go to the forum and register so we can get this site up and running. Headline 7/18/2010 5:03:43 PM Content
