I just saw a picture on ZAM of a guildleves and it said

Now what I want to know is: do you think we are going to be able to use nets in FFXIV when fishing? I love the idea of that. Maybe fishers could collaborate on a net, maybe even be in a fishing party... how cool would that be.
"You are only able to catch this fish if you are 6 people holding on to the net helping each other pull it in..." That would be awesome. I know we probably won't see collaborative fishing but it would still be nice if nets were an option instead of just rods. Edited by user Wednesday, July 21, 2010 4:35:58 AM(UTC)

I like the idea of nets. I think I have seen references to nets on the official home page as well. This may very likely be one of the tools for fishing. This would be great.
As sweet as it sounds I don't think we will see any collaborative fishing though. I don't see them making that radical changes to the system. I would love it if they do though. The idea is great. I remember always standing on the boat fishing and there would always be other players standing there fishing with nothing else to do. It would be awesome if people could do some fishing together instead. |

I think you are right but it would be great. I would love to have fished with other people in a fishing party :D
