Spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/...2RUNQenc&usp=sharing

Updates are forthcoming. I was able to get all (I hope) the mining data up to level 35 this morning. I'm working on condensing the data and updating the spreadsheet, so it'll be changing in the next couple of hours or so. I'll be working on botany tonight.

This spreadsheet will currently only encompass up to level 35 nodes since it was noted in the patch notes that everything above that is currently placeholder information and subject to change.

Here's some info I noticed regarding gear, stats and other general stuff:

- Since I had access to my 50 Miner I was able to track nodes better, and they are spread across each area as they were in 1.0. I believe there were a couple areas where the detection skill didn't pick up anything though.

- Just to get an idea of how much level and stats affect things:

As a level 50 miner with basic high level gear on (raptor stuff), an HQ pickaxe and a NQ offhand, I had 247 gathering and 236 perception. On a level 35 node, I had a 98% chance to gather a level 34 item and a 96% chance to gather a level 36 item. On the same node, I had a 15% chance to gather an HQ item.

I'm not sure how much this keeps scaling down, but in contrast on a level 50 node I only had a 65% chance to gather a level 50 item. On that same level 50 item, I had a 0% chance to gather with all of my gear stripped off and equipped only with pickaxe and sledgehammer.

- There seems to always be four gathering nodes of the same type clustered together. Their items are mostly identical, but I've seen cases, especially on the quarrying nodes, where 2 of the 4 will have an extra item. (usually a crystal)

- The bonuses granted by Stone Whisperer (Tree Whisperer for Botanist) are based on certain stats:

When you meet the required Gathering skill, you get a 10% increase in your gathering chance.

When you meet the required Perception, you get a 10% increase in gathering HQ items.

When you meet the required based character stat (STR, INT, VIT) you receive one extra gathering attempt for that node. Regardless of what level node I was gathering, the base amount of gathers always seemed to be 6, so this adds one more attempt. This also seems to be the only instance in which you can proc your ability that'll give you a guaranteed HQ item since it requires a chain 5 to do so, and normally chain 5 is the last gather you can do on a node.

When you meet the required Elemental Resistance stat, you receive an extra item on each successful gather. This is on top of any other abilities you proc that give extra items as well.

Edit: 6/22/2013 2:30 PDT

New information regarding high level stats. I was messing around on a level 50 node because a friend wanted some Cobalt and I noticed that the stone whisperer requirement for bonuses were 264 perception and gathering, and 211 STR. I just barely met the 211 STR requirement, but my gathering was only 247 and perception 238. HQ gear and/or materia will play a part for gatherers to ensure they can get these bonuses.

Original post updated.

Edit: 6/21/13 1:30 PM PDT

Ok! Mining data up through level 35 has been updated. The first tab displays the item name, gathering level and at what position in the UI it is gathered. (numbered 1-8 with 1 being the lowest and 8 being the highest) It is also broken down by region and X,Y coordinates for each item.

The second tab displays the Stone Whisperer bonus requirements for each node that has them and their X,Y coordinates.

I'll be working on gathering Botany data tonight and it may carry over into tomorrow, but I probably won't get the data compiled until Sunday since I want to play as much as I can, and I have some other RL obligations to take care of.

Glad you approve. :) If there's anything I can do to make the data easier to import let me know. It's hard to reference so much data in only a spreadsheet. (thus why databases were created :P)

Are you sure the whisperer bonus are not random? I guess it would appear random since the nodes spawn at random locations per cycle.

I can't speak for Phase 3 since I just couldn't bring myself to doing DoL this last test, but I imagine it hasn't changed since Phase 2. Each individual gathering spawn point has its own whisper requirement and bonus. If you cycle between three close points, you'll see the same whisper stuff every time you go around.

Bravo on the data; you have much more patience than I do. I told myself I was going to scour botany data this weekend since we had our 1.0 characters finally, but I decked myself out in ye olde botany gear... and then proceeded to log out.

I checked some of the nodes multiple times and they weren't randomized. Also if you check the data, you'll see a lot of the same values appear throughout the different coordinates. (for example, the elemental resistances of the ones that had this requirement were always 119 and 135)

Edit: 6/29/2013 3:30 PM PDT

Just a small edit. Was looking at my gathering log and noticed I had not gathered a couple items in the 30-35 range for mining. Added Bomb Ash and Silex as new items for Southern Thanalan and their coordinates.

There's also an area in the Southeastern most corner of the Sagolii Desert where there are some level 35 mining nodes, but as you approach them they completely disappear. I believe this is a bug with the map so I submitted a bug report. Raw Heliodor and Mythril Ore were two items I was missing in the level 30-35 gathering log and they were said to be located in Southern Thanalan, so I believe they are gathered from the these currently glitched mining nodes.

Just wanted to let you all know that I have started working on reimplementing the resource finder based on the information in this spreadsheet.

It is going to be pretty simple in the start but I hope we can get to a point where it can be an excellent tool. I hope to have it ready before the weekend and the fourth P3 beta test.

Cool, can't wait to see it. Per PurpleNV's request in the stat thread, I'm going to find what level nodes correspond to the required stats to obtain the Whisperer bonuses, so I'll have a little more information this weekend.

One thing I didn't track was the level of each individual node, but I was trying not to overload on data, and I wasn't sure how pertinent it was since Lay of the Land and its Botanist equivalent will only show either the closest or highest level node you can gather from in an area, so if you're starting fresh you'll be limited in what you can find. That and with giving the gathering level of each item, I figured that would be a pretty good way to determine around what level node the item came from.

Orophin,

Based on your data sheet, I made some assumptions and created the following list.

stats

I'm guessing your legacy character either didn't hit lvl 40-50 nodes, or did not have the gear to reach the higher stat requirements. This is all assumptions, and still requires confirmation, I just wanted something to work with this weekend.

My legacy character is not saved on the lodestone in DoL gear, so I'm unsure if I am capable of higher stats. Most of my gear I quit 1.0 with is now dated gear, and useless, so I only have the items acquired from doing the guild quests (both) upto lvl 30. (Tools were still usefull even though they also became dated)

Everything there is probably accurate except for the Elemental stat. I don't remember exactly what level node it came from, but I think it was either 25 or 30, since the only nodes this affected were the ones with crystals on them. (fire crystal, earth crystal, etc. and they're level 26 items) But anyway, the same level node shared the two different elemental resistances.

I didn't mess with higher level nodes just because it was said in the patch notes that anything over level 35 was subject to change, but I can get the stat values for those as well this weekend as I'm more than capable of gathering from them. One bit of info I can give you is that a level 50 node had a 264 gathering and perception requirement, and a 211 str requirement. I think there will only be an elemental requirement if an elemental cluster appears on a node.

Oh yay, thanks for the props on BG Raldo. :)

Edit: 7/5/2013 9:20 AM PDT

Added a new tab in the spreadsheet for the stats required per node level for the Whisperer bonuses. I can't guarantee that these won't change by retail, but being I was able to find the same stats over a few different nodes at least it was good that they stayed consistent.

These were found on mining nodes, but the Botany nodes looked a little wonky. There are some level 40 trees in Snakemolt which runs between Quarrymill and Tranquil, and their Whisperer stats were all over the place. One had a really high ice elemental resistance, then another had one that represented a level 25 node, so yeah, there's definitely still some placeholder stuff there.

So I went to East Shroud around Bramble Patch and took some ss's. You can see other ss's from the area in that same beta pic library if you want.

http://s21.photobucket.c...20pics?sort=3&page=1

The botany pics are first. I used Ageless words to get another attempt and chain 5 just on shards then used Brunt Force which lit up to increase chance of HQ or NQ items to 100% and got a rosewood branch. Next pic or so it says up top Perception >264 to get the gathering fortune 10%. Mine was just at 155 with all the lvl 48 gear I had from 1.0.

Another shows Dex over 199 to get an extra attempt. Anyway just wanted to post some ss's. Posted some more showing bonus's and drops. Got a few hq items but the stats weren't any different just sell for little more gil but that was just 2 items on a tree. Love the abilities now for DoL. Makes Botany fun.

Added more pics to the link above.

I have now implemented the resource finder based in the information in this thread. If you have any comments, corrections or errors please see this thread:

http://disciplesofthelan...osts&m=5808#post5808

So far I have only implemented the mining information but I have made a tool for entering the information in to the site so I hope to have the botany information up as soon as possible.

Thanks a million to Orophin for making this happen already.
