Major update to the site as we start phase 3 of the Final Fantasy XIV beta. A lot of changes have been made but mostly are actually a step back as we really lack information. Most of the features are gone: item database, recipes, maps etc are all gone and all that is left is more or less the forum.

But... we will get it all up and running again as time goes by. As always we are mostly focused on the aspects that concerns gathering but crafting and general information will also be a big part of the site

I am very excited about this new site and I hope you will like it. You will see some changes in the near future as I am not all finished with the looks of the site. I wanted to get this live as soon as possible and all in all the update is mainly a forum update.

I would like to thank you all for visiting and all support is appreciated :D

The site looks really good but if i might ask, whats the difference between the - + buttons and the thank button? seems kinda silly to have both.

I got that final fishing feel which I like lol but I definitely like the new layout so Thank you first and foremost Kida very much.

I like the retweet option for posts.. was that always there? lol. Like the background image

Is there a possibility of having post/twitter updates like pads does officially from SE/XiV. I don't know if he grabs them from the blog or their twitter page but would be nice here. Not trying to replicate pads but some of the simple functions Josh used would be cool here as well. Oh I see it's the dev tracker/SE blog updates.

Some of the relevant information gets lost in here or rather buried in posts so something like a rotating banner stating new live producer letter, etc. Again, not trying to copy pads but it's pretty common stuff to be done on sites so it's not just pads. His site is very useful and will be for many things that go beyond the scope of dol so I get that but again some of the little things would be nice to eliminate the need of going back and forth sometimes and keep our members informed.

Up to you. I can live w/o. I was thinking too that some of the forums on here could be combined like the general and ffxiv news forums. So much cross posting gets done in those despite the forum details listed for both.

Corrections and additions might be another. I know 2.0 is basically a new game so things might change anyway or new forums added but just an idea.. the 2 ffxiv forums though are a mess in my opinion and I'm to blame for a lot of same info/cross posting on those I guess lol but not the only one.

Maybe instead of us posting site news in the ffxiv forum you can have a specific dol news forum only with an short list . and again I'm borrowing from pads but for something so simplistic it shouldn't be an issue.. he has pads news/updates by the SE/Dev blog updates that links to posts. Mind you it's not a big forum like this but the important stuff from you and SE doesn't get buried.

Maybe you can put your own twist on how it looks or you can tell me to f off lol.

I can't wait to start populating the site with dol news and get some new doh information and guides for both once game starts. Oh yeah.. I would like to see more donations for the site as well so maybe some incentives.. even a icon of some sort next to those people's names or idk. I'll let you think on that one but I would love to see more and there should be more as this game is re released.

Oh and what Koroma said above.. yeah I am not a big fan of the plus/minus thing. Just keep it at thanks I would suggest. Also, not overly important but maybe titles and once you get a certain post count you can make your own. A reputation thing based on post count should be sufficient to go along with thanks as it is.

Here is an example of what one site does but is just an example not exactly what we need here and of course you can just keep it the way it is and I'll be plenty happy as well.



That stuff above is over zealous imo and can be toned down and do same thing.. that premium option is for donators and all this is cosmetic bs and not overly important. I'd rather see you keep it as is or very simplistic in nature if you change anything please.

Then again on this site I am a member of they keep it very simple.. just likes and I love that. You can have your own titles as well but that would have to be moderated on here lol.

Was wondering why the site was loading kinda slow on Friday, guess this is why!

As I mentioned in another thread I started, I'm working on gathering Mining data since I started in Ul'dah. Still kinda low level since I've been working through the story quests, but I think each gathering discipline is going to be mostly centered around each major area where their guilds are (i.e. Mining in Thanalan).

Again, I'm only like level 8, so until I can get more of the gathering log opened up I won't know for sure. All I know is I'm missing two items from the level 1-5 one (shards) and they're both in areas that are too high for me to detect items.

I have removed this feature. I am still working a bit on the settings as there are a lot of new things in this updated version of the forum but thanks for pointing this out. It does seem a bit redundant.
