Still reading but even though I kinda expected this answer .. if you have PS3 ARR and want PS4 later on you will have to buy it all over again. I thought they might do something to help people out to avoid paying full cost for it just around the corner basically again but guess not but this is a confirmation as I'm reading it.

Yoshi's comment at E3 was somewhat misleading telling players not to worry about it and just play PS3 for now. He should of just come out and said yes you will have to buy it again. That pretty much means I won't see several of my friends who play console only until next year now cause they are buying PS4.

"RPG Site: The PS4 version -- were you concerned at all that in announcing that you could gut sales of the PS3 version by causing people to wait?
Yoshida: Because we're going with a subscription model, what really matters to us is the number of subscribers - so if the player prefers to wait for the PlayStation 4 version to come out, that's fine; I don't really mind.

I think it was a bigger concern that someone might buy the PS3 version and then find out that the PS4 version was coming out right after they bought it; that would be more shocking as it might upset players. I thought it would be better to let players know up front that the PS4 version is coming out, but in the meantime you can start out playing the PS3 version if you want, as we have squeezed the maximum quality from that platform. Start with that platform if you wish and enjoy the game experience; all the character data you gain with the PS3 version can then be converted to the PS4 version.

I thought that message would be more straightforward and less confusing to players; that's the reason why we decided to make the announcement now. It's really up to the players - if they want to wait for the PS4 version, that's fine."

They may still yet do some sort of promo for registered PS3 copies looking to upgrade to PS4. Since we can register the titles at SE's site they can track that.

With that said, I'm ok with this, since I'm sure I'll end up owning all 3 versions. (stupid money pit!) Play the PC during work in the office, the PS4 in the living room and the PS3 in the bedroom. Non-stop ARR!!!

Oh definitely. I started console only back in 11 then grew to love pc so I do pc up and down stairs and if I'm doing big events that need chat. I have ps3 slim downstairs in home theater room and my old fat 60gb ps3 upstairs in bedroom with desktop.

I will have all versions because I am buying ps4 and putting it downstairs, slim up and retiring my fatty lol. I built a new htpc for downstairs.

Oh they will support Sli again. I'd expect it to be ready for official release. They were having issues with the latest nvidia drivers as well which thankfully I did not upgrade to. Nice setup^^ Having a pc downstairs to my tv is why it's so hard for me at times to sit upstairs on the monitor which albeit is still big but nothing beats a huge tv.
