[Ask Not What You Can Do For Your Country...

Ask IF Your Damn Armorer Can Make Lv. 10 by 2011 !!!]

The HARD Choices

(but first..Thank You Colonel, for the kind words)

Eorzea, a world with many choices--and few places to make them so far.  (hey, I'm laughing with the Devs)

Our Real World too presents hard choices to be made.

For instance, in America (what WE call the United States, because we can) it will be election night.  Mid-term elections, so-called, because they come between a President's term in office at the halfway point.

This has been a bitter year in politics, and that is great!  Lot's of PVP and MPK, shouting, cussing and tantrum throwing...the way I like it.  Shows we're still alive, spoiled bastards that we are here. (and proud of that fact, I must admit!)

But it all comes to a head tonight between the hours of about 6 pm to 2 am.  Between those hours one might hear more bullshizen than at any other time in world history...except maybe when Cleo told the world that her asp ate her...damn the ghetto booty stories anyway.  Nile Shores it was...First reality show.  Except Cleopatra wasn't a sawed off, loudmouth, drunken, hosebag...fugly... sleezut.  (well..maybe a little...like when Cleo gave brain to a legion of Romans in one gulp...)  But I digress...

My country is in political turmoil.  [Well, not really...but the drama queens in the news say it is.]  The Billionaires are in fake turmoil 'cause people wanted them to pay for our military which protects the businesses they shipped to China, India and Korea.  Now the Billionaires want a free army to protect their foreign interests...and are calling those who protest that communists.  Hmmm.  Circulated logic of some kind I am sure.

But the Billionaires do not claim to want a free army...to protect their foreign interests, while keeping American flags.  Nope, they want tax-cuts.  Called the Bush tax cuts.  The other word for that is Oil muny and Halliburton International...or the grey bag section of the CIA...Named after George W. Bush, the 41 st. President.  (no really, CIA HQ Langley IS named after him...so is other stuff.

That is not important!  These elections will just have to be changed!

Every damn couple years they happen...elections in America.

Every couple damn years important stuff is decided in the hours between 6 pm and 2 am.  And here is the PROBLEM:

Elections, good or bad...occur at a very inconsiderate time!  When? Oh yeah, not all are from the USA...they occur my friends, on the SECOND TUESDAY in the month of NOVEMBER!

And so does my Linkshell night !!!

It has been Tuesday since FFXI, and it's still Tuesday and elections will just have to be changed to Wednesday or Monday, or Friday.

For tonight however, I'm left with either gettting my Armorer to 10 and gaining some Rank with our LS; or of listening to a bunch of half-Nazi craptalker Republicans gload about how they looted the treasury into near bankrupcy and now will finish the job in the coming years.

Gee!  What is a slacker to do?

(hee-hee, see ya all tomorrow)

An After Nooner Update from Camp Bloodbath

Nov. 2, 2010

Camp Bloodbath:

Today has me sitting with my friend--a notorious Yoad Prince (and mac-daddy) @ Camp Bloodbath.

Yes, yes...YOU may call it Bloodshore, but you ain't dead like I was.

The Footpads kept re-healing each time I hit them--So I was always dead.

I then pondred to my friend that IF I were to "Synth" the evil humans, they would all be dead in 9 shards time.

The way I'm exploding synths--NOTHING could survive!

I've killed more cotton than a herd of weevils...but I made 16.  Here's a complete update:

Leather 13;  Goldsmif 17;  Armorer 9.6;  Carpenter 14;   Blacksmif 12;  Weaver 16;  Cook 13;  Alchem 12.7

Miner 15;  Botany 14;  Fishing 15

CON 20

THM  15

PUG    8

That is what an average player can do piddling along--some hours involved tho.

Not very impressive but slowly capable.

Now my CON and my THM can whup some ass...don't get me wrong.  I use a few twinkie things.  And I jig my point scale for solo ass-kicking potential.  Some ppl are suprised at me when they watch--cause I ALWAYS am at least HALF dead...But I survive more than not.

I tune my THM to shard hunting and shard hunting it does!

The gear is easy to repair in the field, the Bone Staff is too...the +3 Bone rings, a chip-away from new at any moment I wish.

I have it down to 4 pieces of clothing (and undies) and my staff.  Simple, effective and deadly.

I generally use a 1...2...1.  Dart, dart, Damnation...rinse and repeat.

Punishing barbs every so often or if multiples attk, or should mobs be higher levels.

In this simple scheme I don't abuse my gear, the job gets done and my cat Mary is happy.  I might have just made up the cat, but I'm a Lala and we have big imagitations--as you can see.

THat's it.  My update.

Not as purty as the rest of the guys on the site...but I don't have the purty banner thingie.

SO...don't be a hater!

hee-hee for now

OUCH!

[or maybe not so much?]

October 08, 2010 finds me, tammany tzu, holding her widdle swolen head in dismay.

For, what seemed to have been--going to be--a heartbreaking venture into the unknown has become clear!

Yaaa!

ABOUT ADDING CRYSTA USING UGC

[Ultimate Game Card]

tammany tzu here...taking a break from killing uglies to tell you about how to easily add Crystas--Which in American means:

How to PAY for your gametime in FFXIV using the UGC cards from Wallmart.

[not that I, tammany tzu, go to Wallmart--Because Ul'fah don't have one yet...but your towne probably does have one...and you can buy the 20 dollar card at Walmart from the catty girl behind the register...or the 10 at 7-22 etc and take a billion years loading them]

Here's what my friend from another land--America-told me how he did it.

(1)  Have your friend go to Wallmart.  (saves having to quit crafting to go yourself!)

(2)  Give them some 20's (USD -ollars)

(3)  Have them buy as many cards as you gave 20's...

(4)  (Give friend(s) a couple bucks for gas.

(5)  Close down FF if you are playing.

(6)  re-log to FFXIV, but don't push the *PLAY* button

(7)  Go into *ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT*  (it's the grey botton I think...at the bottom)

[From here, it can either be VERY-VERY confusing--or VERY-VERY simple.]

(8)  For simplicity sakes!  Choose simple...ok?

(9)  Simple, you say?  Great...let's do this thing!!!

(10)  LOOK at the left of the screen.

(11)  SEE the words ADD CRYSTA

(12)  Use that tag...(press the buttion over those words)

(13)  A new screen appears  ("payment and service fees)

(14)  PICK the AMOUNT  (if u have a 20 USD -ollar) card pick: "2,000 Crysta 20 USD"

(15)  PUSH THE NEXT BUTTON  (at the bottom- on mine its orange-ish)

(16)  A new screen APPEARS  (Payments and Service Fees)

(17) Here you have 2 options.

..............................[A] Credit card button: For those who wish their credit card infor to be spread across the digital game hacking universe, and greater Nigeria and China,  or:

..............................[B]  Ultimate PAY

If you choose [B] then you get a new screen

Paypal  (ok but has issues)

ULTIMATE GAME CARD:  <--Pick this one (a "tab"), as that's what we are discussing.  Otherwise don't.

A New Screen Appears:  It SAYS "Ultimate Game Card"  and has a box for PIN.

Prepare your game card--that means turn over the card and scratch the silver strip at the bottom gently to reveal the PIN NUMBER...

**(I think the FIRST TIME through--somewhere in this process it asks for your e-mail then the pin...use the e-mail address you used to acquire FFXV...after the friost time it just asks for the PIN from the card (the UGC)**

Type the Ultimate Game Card PIN NUMBER in the box on the screen that says: PIN

PRESS THE PURPLE (on mine anyway) BUTTON THAT SAYS "ADD CARD"

A New Screen APPEARS:

It Says:  "You're ready to pay" or close to that anyway....

Press the PURPLE BUTTON (or what/ever--pay the damn thing anyway...

I confirms you have paid...

If you have more cards repeat the process...except that it wont cue you for e-mail on the next ones, just the PIN from the card.

You can get the cards at Wallmart, 7-11 and Gamestop.  Each 20 USD -ollar Card is 2,000 crystas.

I have my account set on auto monthly pay...if yours is different you may have to adjust after entering all this--but maybe not.

Good luck--and it actually goes really fast when you do it.  It's just long to explain.

I'll turn this back to tammany tzu now...

Yaaa!  Wasn't that fun!  See why my widdle head would ache?

That's why we have humans!

hee-hee

tammany tzu

(I think I'll put this in a separate thread too...in case anyone gets stuck)

(ps...to check that all the Crysta are there goto Crysta Passbook--It's right under the ADD CRYSTA button)

Finally !!!

I have had....SUCCESS !!!!

I thought that maybe Square hated little Lala's, because they never gave me any CON or any THM guild points.

Months have I fought...fought until my tiny arms ached and throbbed with pain.  Pain that only casting can give a Lala who fights too many beasties without a nap.

My arms ached from casting, my legs throbbed from running and my brain exploded at least three times a day from lagging...but still NO Guild Points !

But last night I went out with a couple guys from our Ul'dah shell...a night like any other?

NOPE!

I got 2,861 THM and  5,786 CON Points.

I have not a clue as to why this happened...Luck-of-the-Draw?  Perhaps...

I think it was because I went to the strip mall and got new undies from Fredrich's of Ul'dah-astan.  A fresh change of thong and sport's bra can do a lot for a Lala's confidance you know!

Today I'm late for an appointment with a goldsmif I know--who is going to teach me some secrets.  See all of you later, and when I hit 20 GS...

Hope all of you are doing as well, or better. Oooh, I need a nap again.  Zzzzzzzzzzz....

Oh-oh...It's "lonely" Out Here!

So see...I'm out at Camp Tranquil (Black Shroud for newer players) and see, it's LOOKING mighty lonely.

I see, maybe 5-6 guys. Was the same as I passed through the lower camps.

I hope this is not a Harbinger O' Doom !

Maybe it's just Friday (friday where I am anyway) and ppl are tired.

Aside from that, because I'm in the game to the bitter end 'cause it's what I do, I got more guild points again.

This sudden change from zero a few days ago is WELCOME!

Now I have THM, CON and MIN points! Yaaa, for me.

Hit 17 THM too, and slowly advancing all crafts. Cooking and fishing I have taken a sabbatical (break) on a bit, as something unknown pissed me off about the fatigue factor in these two. So I am pouting.

Hope whoever is left playing is doing well, and harvesting more than the flu:)

NEW PLAYERS: What you read often is from long time players--It may sound worse than it is, because we grow the game as it goes.

What often sounds like a portend of DOOM, is merely a heads-up to developers and friends that tweek or change is perhaps needed.

Besides, if u spent 60 USD-ollars three nights ago on most games you would already have finished it--
and on the shelf, gathering dust, it would go...right?

hee-hee, think about it.

Things will pick up once the updates get here, whether people want to admit it or not. I think even those who claimed they were quitting the game will at least be curious of the changes.

More advice for new players who feel we are all doom and gloom: Something I have learned in FFXIV is to give things a chance. If you give up right when you think something about the game is broken, you could very likely have based everything on a simple case of bad luck. There seems to be such a great deal of randomness with the game mechanics that people seem rather quick to misjudge.

There have been several times when I thought something was wrong with the game because I felt like I wasn't getting SP, or like Tammany's case of feeling like he was being picked on and neglected of CON and THM guild points. Then wouldn't you know, after giving it several days I usually end up hitting a string of good luck, just like the case with the guild points.

So if you give up too soon, you are also giving up any chance for things to get better. Something that helps me is to always approach the problem as if it's me doing it wrong and not the game (even when I'm certain it's not me). Usually in my attempt to try new ways of doing things, the problem fixes itself. Sometimes I even learn something new in the process.

It's almost like when you do something the same way over and over, the random element of the game gets stuck in the same pattern. I don't know how to explain it, but I've noticed this happens sometimes with computers, code generators, etc outside the game. So to break the cycle, just keep doing things differently as a way to "reset" the randomizer.

It's a Secret to Everyone?

...or just to me?

Hee-hee, I have to use the Link reference every now-and-again because I loved Zelda.

I'd like to be able to tell my friends (who ask!) just where or how I got my Mining Points. I do have them, and I sort of bleary eyed remember doing the leve...

But I sure don't remember where it was I got the quest, how I got it, or where/how on the next one either. I have no other DoL GP whatsoever.

It was probably Bloodshore--but I'm not absolutely certain. By the time anything important happens in my game-life, I am usually so close to the "face-plant" stage that when I wake up--stuff is just done.

I can say that EVERY DoL and DoH (land and hand) job, and both caster classes are ALL above 11--and all save CON--under Rank 20. (oops, me-thinkies I put hand and job in the same sentence fragment--but you know what i mean)

I got zero GP while my R/L friends were seeming to "rake-in" the booty. I was a very, very sad Panda, I was! [A homage to a real life, tiny gamer of 2.5 years, named: Heather]

SPECIAL NOTE OF CAUTION:

Now me, being a carefree little Lala, well...I'm often taken to singing and dancing and not paying attention to other things...hee-hee, it's how we Lala's roll.

HAD I NOT been doing Lala stuff, and paid attention to Mr. MAN at the Battle-Leve desk...I would now be 15,000 CON GP...and many, many THM GP as well--> richer!

When I was raising my CON he always gave me THM GP leves. When I switched to THM to raise it--YOU GUESSED IT---He gave me CON leves.
Now Me, being more interested in smelling flowers and skipping through the Black Shroud, FAILED to note that I could CHANGE JOBS and re-apply for the Leve. (thus GETTING the Guild Points!!!)

Since I figured THAT out I get GP up the waa-zoo, and my friends are pouting. That may run out or change, so I won't "jinx" myself by overtalking the point.

"Superstitious?" Hell ya! You don't play FF and not turn around 3X before you do a hard synth, or bow to the west at a 3/4 moon. lol

I am now going to go kill some logs. See you all later.

Tongue

Just a quickie today, as not much new to tell.
Killed millions of Aldgoat gals and think I see a strange pattern.

Hard to tell, mosty because Square has that embedder who sneaks voodoo into my SP...pretending that I feel "fatigued"...and that "panty gear" perv. who always gear suffers my drawers

BUT...Because I snufficated SO MANY aldgoat, I "think" that I can say you get the MOST SP (notxp) if the goat is in the "green."

Decent pays the rent. EZ is almost always low--except when it's not. Tough is ok, but not much better than decent and more gear wear. VT (red) does not SEEM to be an SP advantage what-SO-evah, and in-fact, seems to be a disadvantage in 2 ways.

More gear wear...death probables, and less SP. Crystal and shard drops seem consistent throughout the degrees of difficulty.

As always with FF, one is never sure what is really happening behind the scenes. All that "equalizing" job crap, and whiners in the dev's ears.

So...I made 18 THM, and came up one in CARP.

almost lv 38, and OH YEAH...

I went to fish again, (haven't for a long while)...

It has gone to crap in my Humble Opinion...since the time I quit. I couldn't hit anything right...and with better pole and better bait than before. (r15, willow, gobie+1,Grades 1-3)

see all laterz,

La-la-LA-la
...
Hee-hee, tamany tzu here...well there,
Hey!!!! You KNOW what I mean!

So, the update came and went and I like most of it !!!
Haven't seen any mean old NM's yet...but who's looking.

THM hit 20; now PUG (and i mean a badasp PUG too) is @ 14+...
Watch-Out Mr. Crabbie one, 'cause I can almost break your Thickshell.
(already!)

Sp is much better now...almost too easy of course but wtf.

Initial "cooldown" on changed abilities is way higher/longer if I am seeing it correctly.

I about got killed because I changed to THM from Pug and couldn't re-up my MP. LoL on me running through the woods very fast ish.

Waddling actually, because of a minus stat from turkey---and pumpkin pie!

Oh yeah...By now you know, but will say again for new players:

--->On Checking Gear Wear and Repair Materials<---

If you find yourself being all punifified and weak from gear-wear, and want to see how bad the damage really is...GOTO the word INVENTORY and lookie down at the bottom-right (Facing the screen)

AN ARROW !

hee-hee, that's where it's hiding.

and:

There is a "SECRET" at the Market Wards in Ul'dah---maybe elsewhere too!

Now I am off to kill nasty Canopy Jigggilos...those lemurs who dont wear pants in public...and who stare in troubling ways.

see you soon...

I was in Ul'dah getting my new weapons and this horse came up to me...So, I said:

"Hey! Why the long face?"

Ba-da-bah...and Ooo wah diddy...

It's not that big a "secret" anyway...just do it when u get there.

On another note:

PUG 16; Lancer 12; GLAD 11 and a boatload O' shards! Yaa ME!

(Dances in a manner unknown outside the tavern at the Dark Shroud.)

I notice a few crystals appearing in my inventory as well...a welcomed change.

Since I changed to GLAD my Shield quickly went from 2 to 12; which my THM will like tomorrow nite @ LS.

AND:

Wonder of Wonders--My panties won't be in a bunch anymore! No more gear wear!!! Loving that.

laters moo-cha-cha's
