This can also obviously go in crafting but I'll repost it here. Thank you to Ryahl http://eorzeareborn.com/...tasy-xiv-a-realm-reborn/ |

Is this from 1.0? Fishing doesn't really affect Alchemy anymore since the crystal synths appear to be gone. I also find it comical that LTW + ALC are hooked up to mining, but I guess what's considered "heavy reliance" is all opinion. Edited by user Friday, July 26, 2013 8:19:32 AM(UTC)

I'd have to scan over recipes again, but Alchemy will still be used with Fishing some for the various oils and glues. As far as Leatherworking goes, they need a lot of Alumen which is gained by mining, but apart from that I'm not sure what more dependency they have on mining.
There's actually quite a few Alchemy recipes that rely on Mining materials, such as the elemental Conjurer wands and the Arcanist books. The high end stat boosting potions (which are going to remain pretty useless as is due to low duration / high cooldown) all use rock salt, but I'd be surprised if you couldn't find that on a vendor. |
