I saw that a few days ago. Not a big fan of ZAM but they do have the best database available currently. If someone else can make one just as good (which I doubt will happen, why compete unless it's just going to be something you REALLY want to do) I'd prefer to use it. |

Frankly, I don't really know or care who owns what, since that affects me as much as when two large corporations merge (like NBC + Comcast, which is to say, I didn't notice a difference in service at all). All I ask for is that they don't foul up what works, such as the excellent navigation and appearance of XIVDB. Personally, I think the ZAM site looks like a turd. Josh is the man behind xiv and does a great job with it so I'm sure the benefits were high when doing this and that he made sure all his work and sites did not become visual trash. Yeah I'm not a huge fan of Zam either. Probably more technical behind the scenes benefits and marketing/advertising. |

I just know sometimes when money is involved, the original owners can lose creative control or feel pressure from above to do certain things to their site that may not be user friendly. |

PADS is pretty bitchin to be honest. Love the tracking and progress bars, the graphs and various other pieces of info. Its like a summary interface that I wish was just build into the damn game.
XKVDB is FAST. That's its selling point. Since it was being developed they were really emphasizing on the speed of the queries and its easy interface. What i DISLIKE is that they don't permit all the right search options. For example: Food. If you search under items there is no sub-catagory to find food, it displays Meals and Seafood. Can't eat the seafood, and the list isn't sortable.
They DO have a list function (instead of the tiles) but it's not implemented yet. I will LOVE when this becomes the case as it will make finding what you want much easier.
Ever since GamerEscape took over Eorzeapedia I dislike the ads and interface. I'd much rather use a wiki than the DB like XIV, but its just more polished looking over on their side of the fence.

I got an answer from PV the other day stating he plans on adding a search filter for the subcategories, like Seafood. |
