TL:DR I've had poor luck using lake lures in anything but lakes, but a coastal lure seems to work just fine in any body of saltwater. Anyone else notice this? Do we know how this works yet?
Explanation
At a glance, it's simple to give fishable areas four categories:
Saltwater Freshwater Dunefishing Cloudfishing
The last two on that list seem to be static as of ARR release. The first two, however, are given classifications if lures are to be believed. Those that I can cite here from the lures I own are:
Saltwater - Coastal Saltwater - Marsh Saltwater - Other
Freshwater - Lake Freshwater - Marsh Freshwater - Other
Each of these areas may have a population of fishable critter that is stratified (e.g. surface, bottom, neither surface nor bottom) or simply tied to specific lures to represent this stratification, but for now I'd like to see if we can understand what properties the body of water has that are critical to successful or specific fishing.
Please share explanations, real data, or entertaining anecdotes below.
Thanks!
