Hello fishmongers,
how are you doing today, good ? thats great
now i know alot of you guys been wondering where the hell is the Mahi Mahi and why hasnt it been caught yet.
to answer you its simple , we've been fooled its not in a high level area as most of us suspected rather its in a level 10 spot.

but before that i beg of you please, dont undercut each other, dont make it go lower than 10k and lastly dont bulk sell it.

and so i begin:
Go to Oschon Torch in Lower La Noscea , pick up a yumizuno since its the only bait i caught it with but try to get whats her preferred bait (though i doubt she has because i tried all of them and only Yumi worked) and the last note about when to fish it i wont be telling you guys you need to figure it out yourself (am a greedy monopolizer yeah!).

The good news:
Its not moochable

The bad news:
Its not moochable which means easy for bot fisher to catch
its damn hard to catch
it will make botters happy about fishing it
and lastly it needs alot of gathering (i have 281 with food and i still only caught 4 out of 400ish tries)

lastly here's a proof of catching it:


Last thing i wanna say again:
Do not , i repeat do not! undercut eachother, sell in bulk , and lower its price more than 10k this fish is our only source of survival so grasp on it otherwise you gonna be hurting yourself by undercutting

Just out of curiosity, what makes this fish so desirable? I see one recipe for it on xivdb but it doesn't have the stats for the food listed.

i just got one in ten minutes and my stats are far lower than yours :o i have crappy gear
gathering 214, perception 168

thats really confuses me i mean even with my 281 gathering i only farm around 9-8 a day and some times i dont and sometimes only 1
can you fish and tell me how many you can fish during a 30 min period? because am planning to increase my gathering more and i wanna see some results if that i can get more mahi by increasing gathering

I can test more later. I've moved onto other places for a bit.

what I found out is that they are caught any weather (clear, rainy, windy, fair) between about 10am-6pm game time

I do find it interesting though that I got so many with gimpy gear

daylight has ended

naked, i got 7 mahi-mahi and lost 5-6 fish

but it took like 30 seconds to get bites naked

Probably not due to the lure required to catch it being a level 48 lure.

As a point of clarification the DAY/NIGHT cycle is on the 6. So 6am-6pm is DAYTIME, 6pm-6am is NIGHT TIME.
