Hey all, glad to be here. Found you guys while looking for help with my fishing job, great info and tips.

Now on to the topic:

Is there a set guide created for fishing prices? In order not to undercut the market, is there a rule for how much a fish should cost?

All of my sales have been from cculinarians (spelling?). I've actually got more money from individuals approaching me, then selling on the market....Go figure.

Anyways, any help towards answering the questions would be great.

Ex. I recently sold 7 bluebell at 200 gil a pop while selling my HQ bluebell at 500 gil. Good pricing? Too much, too little?

I based my pricing of the fact that Bluebell is really only caught in one location (to my knowledge) (so knowledge fee), it requires a level 15 fisher (job level fee), and if there are any currently on the market.

Requests always cost more.

If there's no standard rate, any chance we can come together and start creating a standard rate?

well to me i think some items deserve not to get lower than the 7-5k mark
like Silver Sharks NQ which is needed for Shark oil to make militia tools, Red coral to make some acc
black lip oysters the HQ should always be as far as 40-30k since its mainly used for gsm relic and some other gsm stuff
same goes for the mahi mahi which should always stay at the 10k mark for as long as we could because its a bitch to catch since its a weather/time one
of course catching the fishes and working on them as a Cul or gsm would net u some profit too

Pricing all comes down to what people are willing to pay.

Me personally, I will check the NPC price of a NQ fish and usually list it for 1g under that. For HQs or other NQs that can't be bought, I usually just wait until some other people list theirs and see how the history starts developing. If there's a solid history established yet low stock and someone tries to gouge the price, I will defer to the last sold price on the history.

I try to keep in line with the lowest active price unless history tells me otherwise. Also if people start undercutting me, you're going to get undercut back. :P

I'm going to guess in a week things will be 1/5 of that. Currently on Ultros it's been undercut down to:

red coral: 400-500
blacklip: 200
whitelip: 75
hammerhead: 400
silver shark: still holding around 800-900

What are the top selling fish on your server? I've only had luck selling silver sharks about 1k per.

Those are sad, but true facts, people will always undercut with margins for "faster" sell, when they don't realize that they sell just as fast, when they equal the price of the lowest..

ofcourse . . . at the mean time am selling like 22+ of those which i fished for 1 whole day (more than 22 cuz i gave alot to friends and random ppl)
while others only have 1 or two it sucks but why begin undercutting ; =;

and tbh on new servers its understanble that fishes sell low since the economy is new
but whats heart breaking is my server "balmung" you place "blacklip oyster HQ" u get a massive undercut by a jerk

Gigantpoles selling for 20,000(only me).
Now someone selling for 18,000.

Now begins the steady decline of Gigantpoles being a decent way to make good money for Fishers.
..Just people not know how this affects the market.
Price is going to continue being undercut until eventually..just..*sigh*
