Silly lala, I stood there in his spot myself and fished and got an Anglefish...clearly in the Costa side as its not part of the north Bloodshore fish list. Don't let your eyes deceive you :p

the screenshot doesn't lie. the fact still is, his location map shows exactly in the middle of the North Bloodshore fishing spot square enix put into the game. hence, my original statement is still correct my eyes are not deceiving me as you can CLEARLY see from the side by side screenshot there is no point in arguing with me about it since I provided the screenshot proof... Calm yourself, I wasn't arguing just having some friendly banter. Should relax more, live longer to fish more :D

Yea I went on the edge of the 2 fishing zones because of the description of the fish: " Despite the modifier, the little Thalaos is anything but small; though compared to the Thalaos of legend, even the largest of sea serpents would be deemed “little.” Normally only found far offshore in the Indigo Deep, this rare wavekin can sometimes be found swimming near the eastern cliffs of La Noscea. " Because it said it sometime appears on the eastern cliffs of La Noscea I went there and tried my luck somewhere near the cliffs. It weird though, I am actually in the zone of north bloodshore (according to the fishing map), but that might just be more of an general area marker then clear borders. Not trying to send people the wrong way here I was just really happy to see the fish appearing after searching for it for a while ;) I wonder if you actually need to be somewhere around the spot I am standing or that you can stand on the docks of Costa del Sol. Allow me to thank you for sharing this information, Toppa Indrogar! I'll be sure to this "little" Thalaos down this weekend and add it to my collection.

Naw location doesn't matter so long as you are actually fishing in the right body of water. I did end up spending 4 hours of in game time trying with a Yumi but never got him to bite. Will test other baits when the rain returns. (For those who don't know, weather changes every 8 hours of game time. I _assume_ its the same on all servers but mine is 00:00, 08:00, 16:00) Edited by user Friday, September 06, 2013 12:10:08 PM(UTC)

Makes sense, that's how it was in 1.0. That's also 15 minutes IRL, so it's a reasonable amount of time for weather to persist. |

Managed to catch this also, 229 gathering 163 Perception. Although there was still something there that i wasnt able to reel in. I'm assuming it was either a hq little thalaos or another fish entirely.....

I have noticed, and reported as a bug, that standing in the actual circle of North Bloodshore doesn't reel in North Bloodshore-species, but rather Costa del Sol-species. I was standing in the middle of the circle, next to that NPC, and catching Angelfish, which is not in the fishing log for North Bloodshore.
So even if it's the same body of water - the circles not being by any means the limiters of the fishing holes - standing inside that circle should net you the given fish in the log, in my humble opinion. |
