Hello folks,
When I'm fishing I've noticed that from time to time I will get a significant tug on my line and in those instances the fish will get off the line.
Is this what will happen every time I see the "big tug" animation or is it possible to catch that big fish? :)
I'm level 22.
Thanks!

Typically it's a fish higher level than you and you don't have enough Gathering to catch it at that point in time. There's sometimes higher level fish littered in with lower level fishing spots, so it's best just to come back and try again later after you've gotten some gear upgrades. Welcome to the site. :) Edited by user Thursday, September 12, 2013 11:14:43 AM(UTC)

I think there is also a default "Fail" bite that will never be pulled up. Sort of like the 1% guarenteed fail back in FFXI.
I can be at a fully mapped out level 10 fishing spot as level 50 fisher with level 45-50 gear and still get the fish gets away message on a rod cracking hook.
None of the fishes at that spot should be outside my gathering/perception range.
