I sometime run out of bait or get high enuff level for new baits/lures but idk where to go to get them.a example is the shrimp cage...maybe a field guide for perception..idj where to buy lvl28-30. why don't you make a thread and contribute with info on where to buy things? cages need to get fixed since the prices are for a lure i just look on http://xivdb.com/ to see where to buy baits/lures :o Edited by user Tuesday, September 17, 2013 1:51:29 PM(UTC)

In general lures will be A LOT cheaper on the AH than from vendors.
I got all mine from the Market Board.
Your very first lure will be Crowfly and it will be around 340 at the vendor. it was 100 or so each on the AH. I think it has dropped down to 60 or so last I checked.

I can see this being the case now. I started fishing very early on into the game, before people starting leveling up their crafts (on a new server) so I didn't have much choice but to buy them. Now it's a feasible option to buy the lures on the MB. You may even find cheaper consumable bait there too, like the culinarian crafted stuff. |

dang, i just checked the market and people are actually buying goby balls for 190gil, 40, 35, 30, etc each (stacked) lol
the merchant sells them for 3gil each!

What is even more strange is that some people are selling stuff for lower prices than what you can sell them for to npc's. The sell price is shown right there on the item and yet people will sell them so cheap you can make money by buying them at the market board and sell them to an npc. Weird. |

Yep.they dont understand harder to catch,higher the price..i sold some crayfish over 1k bc no1any up on MB.black eel for 11ka as well
