Hi all
Just wanted to share it with you. I have finally gotten all my crafting and gathering classes to 50 as I last night reached 50 on my miner. This has taken way too long time as this was started three years ago when the game first came out but considering how much time I have for playing I am very pleased.
I have gotten all the level 50 gear in HQ as well and have quite a few melds to some of the gear.
The thing is: What should my goal be now? Obviously I have to get one of my battle classes to 50 and maybe in 5 more years they will all be there but do you have any suggestions as to what my goals should be.
I have not completed the logs (crafting and gathering) yet so I guess that is an option as well. I am pretty close with mining and botany log. I don't quite understand why I don't have them all as I have been to all the gathering places in the game.
But let me know if you have some goals yourself and maybe I can be inspired to do some of these my self :D |

I guess the question is: What do you want to get out of the game?
I personally like doing raiding and stuff like that, so I'm frequently doing dungeons and Primal fights. I personally haven't stepped foot into Coil yet, but I'm kinda waiting on my FC to be ready to tackle it. We still have some folks finishing up Titan so that's what's hanging that up. Personally I wouldn't care if we did it now or not as I think tackling Crystal Tower would help us progress a bit more naturally into Coil.
When I'm not doing dungeons/raiding I'm leveling secondary classes, whether it's a battle class or a gatherer/crafter. I kinda get sidetracked here because I have certain goals but I tend to get easily distracted. My long term goal is to get cooking leveled to 50 first so that I can supply my own food for raiding, but in order to efficiently do this, I need to level my Botany first so that I can gather the majority of my own ingredients. But then I also want to get my Conjurer leveled up as it's the last caster class I need to level to 50 and then I can convert the majority of my old caster gear and free up some space in my inventory/retainers.
So yeah, I'm easily distracted, which I think is a good thing because that means I have plenty of stuff to do. This will be further compounded once 2.1 hits and it brings whatever new content it does.
So I guess I have to ask, do you have any specific goals? Being that you have all crafters to 50 and decked out in what I assume is the best combination of gear, your possibilities for making money are limitless. You just have to research the market and see what's in demand at the time or see what people are shouting for to get crafted.
On the other hand, being that you haven't gotten a battle class to 50, you still have the main story to go through. I'm not sure how much this interests you, but being that it's a Final Fantasy game that's supposed to be one of the main draws to playing it. The desire to level multiple battle classes to 50 may not be something you want to do, but it's worth doing it at least once just to see the main story. Once you beat the main story some more content becomes available. I would think you could get through the main story before the next patch hits, which would be good timing as you could progress naturally through the end game content if that interests you. |

Yeah its all about 'what makes you happy' at this point.
For me, its helping the FC reach their goals, doing some Achievement Grinds, and making Gil to buy the biggest house I can so that HOPEFULLY they let me mount some of these fish in my retainers on the wall for show....damn things are getting RIPE as they've been in there for a while now.
Been doing some Behemoth and Odin hunting (3x gold on Behemoth now and 4x Silvers on Odin), that gear you can get with their tokens is festive.
Working on my 4th relic at the moment too...its all progressive and never seems to end. Though I am tired of the Myth and Philo grinds...about done with all that i thinks.

I will share some of my goals if that helps brainstorm. Realize some will be things you already finished. Personal:
- Finish off Last DoL and crafts, to be ready for FC Housing.
- Level DRG to 50 as an Alt, along with all cross class abilities.
- Finish Bard Myth items (Weekly Cap).
- Clear all Turns of BCoB.
Free Company
- Continue to help members through content, so there is less use of duty finder and help them learn their job at a comfortable level.
- Half of my personal gil is going to the FC house. > Turning my own gathered items into a material/finished product and tossing up on market.
- Help others in need of HQ turn-ins for their crafts.
- Maintain FC website.
- Organizing Bahamut's Coil runs.
- 80% of our level 50s have at least 1 Relic they desire, all from FC help. I want this to continue.
Things to consider: - It was stated in the last live letter that 85% of housing items will be from crafters/gathering. - Give all the DoW/DoM a try. Level them all to 15 and whatever one is the most fun/interesting, continue on leveling at your pace and the way you want to. - Don't be afraid to ask your Free Company for help or to answer questions. Thanks for all the feed back. I never doubted there would be plenty to do :D
I think my first goal will be to get me Archer class to 50 by doing story and class quests. I really like this part of the game as well and I hope the story will continue to be as great as it is. Once I get level 50 I will have to see where I should be heading next. Maybe get another class leveled or get some of the jobs.
I have enjoyed archer but I am currently only level 25 so there is still a long way to go :D
@Eldr :P I am not going down that road LOL |

Congratulations on all 50's for doh/dol. Pretty much you have to do dow/dom cause the game is focused on dungeons and battle. I stopped doing dungeons cause I just don't like them and duty finder but you may love it. Never know until you try. All I have left to do is cap my doh's. I don't know if our FC is doing housing.. I assume they are but I don't have the gil to contribute so idk what will come of that.
Is there any major upside to housing.. I mean benefits to members. Guess I need to read up on it again. Don't need anymore xp bonuses. I guess it will be cool to see other members cause I never see players I chat with.. probably cause I quit dungeons lol. |

I personally liked the main story and hopefully you will enjoy it as well. There were several complaints about some of the quests being "filler" which are perfectly valid, but once you get into the mid 40s things really start to pick up. The series of quests before fighting Titan can be pretty aggravating and the whole quest series in Coerthas feels rather pointless apart from trying to lay down a foundation for Ishgard whenever it inevitably becomes available.
Also, try to do as many sidequests as you can as it will ease the amount of FATE grinding you have to do later on. SE in their infinite wisdom didn't put in enough quests to get you from 1-50 so there will be some points in which you're forced to get xp in an alternative manner. Most of the sidequests you can receive are fairly obvious where they are, however this one area (Camp Overlook in Outer La Noscea) that has some level 34 quests ironically enough gets "overlooked". There's also a handful of sidequests that pop back up in the later 40s that can be done, so you kinda have to travel around and find them, unless you find out where they are via a database site. |

We are doing housing and gil is not required to contribute, it will be purely donation based. Besides, since Yoshi said 85% of of housing items will be from gathering/crafting there are many ways to contribute if you desire. I hope some of the FC activities he mentioned are happening. Combined member crafting and gathering to get/make rarer items. However, its to early and speculation at this point.
