congrats on the bamboo. There are certain times it's okay to share stuff however being a brand new game unless it's a really good friend of someone I wouldn't share it either unless.. some random dude told you or you found it out on some forum. If someone didn't do any of the legwork to learn it... it's moot then. If someone figured it out by themselves then by all means hoard it like crazy. You earned it. I'm not interested in cornering the market on anything in this game as easy as gil is to make. I did all that in ffxi. I would of figured it out eventually just like everyone else. In the end pretty much everyone will have almost every craft leveled up and we'll all be able to make everything lol. So I don't see anyone cornering anything.. not in this game. 11? yes but not 14. not yet at least. Plus...each of us paid for our game and can do whatever we want. Keep it civil guys. Or these people could have learned the recipe via completing a local guildleve? Let's not be so quick to assume these people spent hours having a lot of items crafted just to figure out the recipe. |

That's kind of exactly what another fisher and I on our server did, so... regardless, I don't think the recipe should be kept a secret, especially in a community like this. |

I can confirm this as well. I had my Bamboo Fishing Rod made yesterday. I was told it requires a minimum level 29 Carpenter though.

Not true, mine was made by a level 24. It's a tough synth though, I watched a level 25 carp fail 6/10 with someone else's mats. |

If it's a rank 29 recipe, it is possible to do with a rank 21. But you would need to have really good gear.

Absolutely, I was actually catching crimson crayfish and blindfish from r22+ instead of newts and moss. |

Which bait do you find best for Crimson Crayfish? I need to catch a bunch to make into Boiled Crayfish.

Good to hear. I just tried a Grade 4 in Cedarwood at Rank 21 last night and was holding up fairly well, but the Ash Tuna were giving me quite a fight. Once I hit 22 I'll start using the bamboo rod and I'm going to start importing more Grade 4 data into the database.
I can't say what will work best for crimson crayfish since I have no personal experience with them. Edited by user Monday, October 25, 2010 4:36:46 PM(UTC)

I certainly have not had that much luck -- for every stack of blindfish I catch, I catch maybe 3 crimson crayfish. I haven't hooked one with a lure yet, so I've been sticking with moth pupa and that's what's giving them to me. I'm really hoping to get my hands on some crab balls soon, and hopefully I'll have more luck. |

K excellent, its what I currently use. CC are biting more on the bottom, for me anyways whereas I get more BF on the top.

Why should he have to post the recipe if he discovered it himself? The guy I bought mine from, I told him to guard that recipe with his life and he'll make a fortune. No reason to punish him just because he pursued with trial and error with it finally paying off. If you discovered that recipe after a possible hours of trying different combinations, you know damn well you wouldn't share it either, I'd hope.
I dunno, I discovered a couple of weaving things that I posted on YG already... I know how frustrating it is to try and make something with the wrong recipe that you really want/need on your character. I have plenty of other ways of making gil so that's really not a big deal to me. Granted the things I found were easy (at least I thought, maybe not since they weren't on the site) and not something as high level as this rod but still. -_- |
