So I was fishing, and I got this message.

Never seen this before, or even hard about it. Rank 14 fishing a grade 2 node, was only there for around 6 casts, and was only my 20th or so cast of the day.

Yeah, I think I've only seen this twice myself. It's weird, since it cancels your fishing, but you can fish again right away. |

Seems like an odd reaction. Have you been to that node before? Have you used the bait/lure you were using at that node before? Perhaps it was a weather or moon phase event. Were you able to cast again after that happened? If you were, did you catch something you normally don't catch? |

It's a node I regularly fish at, though I haven't fished there for a couple days. I also haven't fished at all for around 12 hours before I went there, and only fished one node before it for about 15 casts.
I could immediatly cast again, didn't notice anything different. Casted another 6 or so times, no issues.
The only part of my gear that changed (including bait) was going from a weathered rod to a willow rod.
I'm guessing it's just some error happened, and the server decided to reset the cast. And the dev's though that would be a more amusing message to display than a normal error message.

Who knows maybe it has a deeper meaning. Perhaps it is a sign of a Legendary Fish in the area? Maybe that is a hint that one can be caught here? Thats the only thing I can think off that would make sense, I have seen this myself a couple times.

Doesn't make a lot of sense that a legendary fish could be caught in a Grade 2 area, but it can't be totally discounted since we haven't tried every bait combination available.
I've never seen that message the entire time I've been fishing, but then again, I don't fish schools often if that's where it came from. |

I notice I only get this message when I finish with a leve and an aetheryte node is up and I try to continue fishing. Maybe another fisher near you had finished their leve? |

Wow .... this is new. Never seen this yet but I would love to know what this means. I think legendary fish in a grade two area sounds unrealistic as well. |

I just got this again. Conditions went exactly as follows:
Time has expired. "Leve" failed. (continued fishing)
You fill a nibble.
The fish are agitated. |

Yeah, I just got it when I tried to continue fishing after I'd finished a leve as well. Seems like it's a cuter way to tell you your leve pool has dispersed and cancel your fishing. Mystery solved, I think. |

Wonder if there's something in place to where they can't reset that specific fishing location before you put away your rod after failing a levequest, so this measure was enabled. |

I didn't fail my leve, I passed it. But I was on a leve before I got the message, don't remember if I caught anything between the leve ending and me getting the message though.

I didn't fail mine, it's probably just leve pools in general. |

I got the same message 2-3 weeks ago, BUT it also happened when I decided to continue fishing after I was done with my levequest. I just select to leave the Node up, that way I could continue fishing and then I would just warp instead of running my way back. I thought this was the way of SE make yo either use the node or close and run your way back... no shortcuts allowed!
I will try it one more try and see if I get the same message.

I was going to suggest perhaps a catchable monster was nearby, but you could be right and it's just an amusing error message. After reading through the rest of the posts on the thread it sounds pretty likely that there was a leve-only school of fish that was being cast into, and after the leve finishes the school remains (while you're in fishing mode) but it's impossible to get anything from it, so the message is given. Darn, I was hoping it would be something more exciting. ;) |

I'm thinking it's more you hooked the leve specific fish after finishing the leve. I have tried to force this to happen, but just caught a crayfish.
