I was doing a find promising fishing points leve. Decided to get a little extra skill points so I planned on using Guardian's Aspect and before I go to the last point, spend time fishing just to get skill.
I kept catching dark bass. Now I know I've never caught dark bass outside of a school before, and the school was gone. I thought, maybe it was the new fishing rod and schools just give you a boost in skill to catch those rare fish. Seems I was wrong. Haven't caught one dark bass since I finished the leve.
So apparently, when you finish a point for a leve, you can stll fish there, and it will still register as a school until the leve ends. Edited by user Tuesday, October 19, 2010 9:57:51 AM(UTC)

Yeah, a friend and I noticed this going on during open beta. I sorta posted about this in another thread here. I was doing the level 20 leve in Tranquil for finding fishing spots and I was pulling up nothing but rainbow trout, with a floating minnow even. I assume this is going to be the case for the level 10 quest in Drybone where I had seen a dark bass before but didn't really try it extensively.
I don't usually use guardian's favor on this leve since you can only catch so many fish in the allotted time, but I think you get the boosted rank xp for every catch as well. |
