First three casts, no bites. fourth cast, monke onke. Next two, no bites. Then a crayfish, and another monke onke.
I then spend time catching crayfish/salmon/black ghosts until I see this.

Did you try saltwater bait? It tends to target the monke onke more frequently. |

Use a Floating Minnow next time. I failed it several times before trying that. FM = Easy Button for that leve.

I used Crow Fly at level 16 no problem, took about 15 casts. |
Set the gearshift for the high gear of your soul. You've got to run like an antelope, out of control. |

Looks like everyone missed it... or maybe it's just me thinking it was funnier than it was. In the image, "missed it by that much."

On my first try on this, I had 2 mins left when I caught the last Monkey :)
And yesterday I got my first guild mark points from the other lvl 20 leve. 888 points!

I just picked up this leve for the first time and it has marks and a cluster. Now I am a little nervous.

hmm I always just use moth pupa and I get all 3 with 15mins remaining. Make sure you have a good route set up to get to the leve area. I like to go north to avoid most of the mobs that might aggro which aren't many then come back down south instead of running through the goobue area.
Dowse is great to have ready as well if you need it. I was under the impression this was freshwater so saltwater only bait wouldn't work in fresh like lugworms. I was catching them on a crow fly but it was taking longer for me. I know some lures can do both like my Spoon lure I use in freshwater and saltwater.
Only had guild marks offered a few times and not for very much even when I traded in other leves. 3k to 20 fisher!
Congrats to those who are enjoying fishing, exploring new fishing areas, getting marks and keep at it those who are starting out or had a rough go at a leve the first time. Only a matter of time and you'll have it down.
.. I just did my monke leve again with a spoon lure and in the pic below you can see I get 3 monkes in a row w/o other fish so my point is try the spoon lure if you can find one it works great. I got mine in a random bazaar. The last onke is at very bottom but some of it got cutoff. Took me 4-5mins to run there. I go north the long way.

All you have to do is use a bait that you know will normally not work for that area. On leves you are guarenteed to get leve fish bites no matter which bait you use. So by using the wrong bait for the area you will only get bites of the fish you need. ^_^

Thanks for the tip on lure Alle/Fallen, I'll have to tell Titen that one. :) Usually I help him do this leve but I'm only rank 8 and he's rank 17 so mostly it's just me sitting there getting no bites or losing nibbles while he does the leve lol. |
