Has anyone noticed if / how the physical stats and elemental stats from skilling / leveling up have an impact on fishing? I was just wondering if they were of any use at all. And hello, I'm the new guy. rank 11 fisher on Saronia. Edited by user Saturday, October 30, 2010 1:45:23 PM(UTC)

Welcome Captain. Based on what I have read on here and from what the guild offers you as guid mark rewards it would be Piety and Dex. However, I still don't know exactly to what degree they affect fishing or exactly how. I personally have not noticed any major differences in no pts added to pie and after I put in pts. I would still like to see more extensive testing results or something from SE saying how it affects your fishing. I depend more on my fishing gear if anything. You can find a lot of fishers in the 30's and 40's with very little piety but then idk what grades they are fishing at or just doing leves,etc. Edited by user Saturday, October 30, 2010 4:04:07 PM(UTC)

I can tell you how elemental affinity works, aside from what crystals you get.
All the gathering (and crafting) abilities are based on elements. The higher your affinity with the element a craft is based on, the more often it will get used (or be in list for crafter). You can tell which element the ability is based on by it's background color.
As for physical stats, I think Vicious may be correct. Although, if you look at war classes (archery for example), it seems backwards. Archer guild mark traits give boots to MND and PIE while reducing DEX and VIT. Maybe they just know, if you are going archer, you are probably going to stack VIT + DEX (why not STR? no idea), so they let you have traits that reduce those so you don't have to reassign so much for other classes.
