This lists all details and some cool stuff we hadn't heard mentioned by SE before:

That was a lot of information. I am really looking forwards to a lot of these changes and I am very glad that they are going to implement all these things.

FFXIV is really a great game IMO and I hope that these changes will let more people feel like me.

Thanks for the link Vicious...

The changes look promising, but honestly, this stuff should have been in with the retail release. SE should have just delayed the launch of the game until December, but that's neither here nor there.

I've decided to cancel my subscription until after the December patch because I don't want to fork over anymore of my money to SE. I'm bitter that I paid $75 for the state that the game is in now, when that money should have went towards what the game is becoming 3 months after launch. If people in my LS that are sticking with it can honestly tell me that the game is way better after the next couple of patches, then I might come back to it. Else I'll probably be waiting until that 2011 patch.

I have some friends who are in the same position as Orophin. They wanted more for the money they paid for the game sooner than later even with the 60 day free trial they don't feel satisfied and I understand that.

I told my friend that if he just wants to wait till after the 2 main updates are released and not have to pay for a month or two then do it and save the cash. However, he already knows what is going to be in those updates so he feels he can make up his own mind now as to how the game will be over the next 2-4 months.

So it comes down to a financial thing for him. I look at it as the game will only get better.. it pretty much has to and will over time. I've played a lot worse trust me and I have no problem starting my monthly payments coming up at the end of this month. The money I paid for the game wasn't just to cover the first few months. It was for the next 4-6 years or more.

That includes the good and the bad that I expect with any new game. I always said during the beta that the first 6 months to a year would be trying on my patience so my expectations were not anything above what I have played so far.

Pretty much everything that I wanted them to fix or implement is going to happen. These types of games are a marathon not a sprint and with so many players and critics around the world playing 14.. you get all sorts of views good and bad.

I always suggest that everyone make up their own mind which means if you decide to come back in Jan, Feb or March then pay for that month and check everything out for yourself and really give it a 2nd chance and not just based on your ls or friends opinions. You play "your" game not them and this FF mmorpg is it for a long time. You won't see another FF mmorpg from SE till 2016-2018.

But let's be clear to anyone new to 14 reading this.. the game is not bad at all. It has a lot of wonderful aspects about it and looks incredible. Yes there are annoying aspects as well but ffxi was not a overly special game at the start either.

It's up to each individual to understand what a mmorpg is and how it evolves over the years and whether or not you have the patience and money to stick with it. I'm sure I'll take my share of breaks and shut down my character for a few months or more over the next 6 years just like I did in FFXI. good luck everyone.
