Are you guys interested in starting a linkshell when Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) comes out?
I think it would be great for us to have an ingame network that will enable us to communicate, cooperate and generally have a good time. If you are interested reply and we will be that more prepared on the 22nd of September.
Oh and by the way... if you have a great name let us know... I was simply thinking it should be called "Disciples of the Land" but maybe you can come up with something a bit more interesting. |

I think a shell would be a great idea. Having a guild that has lots of people that enjoy crafting is an amazing thing in game. I was an officer of a guild in Aion that focused on crafting. We ended up having so much money because we all worked together and created tiers within the different crafts. I feel like crafting in FFXIV will be very dependent on other players to be able to work on your craft. Having a miner that supplies ore to the different crafts and those crafts then supplying him with new gear is a great way for people to grow and help each other. Disciples of the Land is a great name for the guild because it will bring people to the site and help with advertisement. I could see us easily growing to be the primary place to get crafted stuff/materials. I have been more excited about FFXIV than any other mmo i think i have waited for, and finding this site has made me even more excited!
Not sure how the guild system will work yet, but I thought it might be neat to have two sister guilds, DotL and DotH (Disciples of the Hand). Edited by user Thursday, August 05, 2010 10:01:08 AM(UTC)

I also think a linkshell will be a great idea. The more we are the better and this way we can exchange resources and keep in touch In game. I like the names but we probably have to move fast to get them.
Is it possible to be in two linkshells? If so I think we should try to make both.

Count me in. One thing that I learn from XI was it's so hard to progress your game with out money so this time I will try to make money first before I do anything else. My main character would be Alchamist/Botanist :)

While I have no problem with the LS name "disciples of the land" I just want to throw in some of my idea that I think maybe you guys like it "Gaia Seeker" and "Treasure Hunter" :)

LS name suggestion "Land Rovers" LOL just a thought.

I am looking forwards to getting this Linkshell up and running. Everyone are welcome but we just have to figure out a server to join. Would be stupid if we all joined different servers.
Does anyone know if a linkshell costs anything to create? In ffxi this was a hurdle in the start of the game as you would have to get enough gil to make one. |

You can actually be in up to 8 linkshells at once, all of which use no inventory space. Also, you can read ls chat from all linkshells in your posession, but can only chat into the one you have equipped.

Think is a good idea.
I was part of a fishing LS in FFXI and always enjoyed my time in the LS. Always nice to have other people to talk about discoveries and pool resources.
Since is going to be a LS for all DoL classes the name Rusty Bucket is probably not going to make it i guess 
And the LS must be on the same server as my LS if I'm going to join.
Just keep us posted where you will go and if we end up on the same server I'll join.

Ah the no inventory space thing is great to hear :)
I would certainly be up for joining if I end up on same server come september 30th.
