the new update has more messages.

it tells you that the fish here like the lure you are using
it tells you that specific fish are "above" or "below", letting you know where to set depth :D
"something big bites your line"

i love it!

I saw this one as well... looks like we need to do some new logs... *SIGH* I am really close to getting the new log finished but I need some more time. It would be a good time to introduce the new log and get the new information documented using this.

I will see if I can get some more done during the weekend.

It may be best to take all the old data and archive it on a new page and then start the new log from scratch so we can build a database of what bait is best for what, from scratch.

Also does anyone thinking it is hard to catch fish incs the update? A few LS mates say they think its harder to get catches now. I have yet to go out and test it, so I am wondering what people think.

It's definitely harder. Both fishing for fish and fishing for kelp.

I haven't experienced it being harder at all.
As soon as i got home last night, I went and fished up 75 hammerheads in about 1.5~ hour. (grade 3 water)
and today fished a bunch on grade 4 for blindfish and got several stacks in less than an hour.
fished grade 5 for about 20 minutes and it still seemed normal

the main difference now is that you can zero in on the fish you want by setting depth

I haven't tried any grade 3/4 yet but 5 is definitely kicking my butt. Tons of lost catches & being unable to reel in messages near Bald Knoll and south of Drybone at rank 35. Didn't have these issues before the patch :(

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not finding the log message telling where you can catch the same fish all that useful, unless it tells you that you can catch that fish in the same spot. For example, if I'm fishing at the extreme top or bottom, it's going to tell me I can catch those fish above or below my current mark...durrrr. Anywhere else, you have a 3 or 4 notch margin of error. And if you catch a different fish, it tells you where THAT fish is after you catch it, so you still have to move the slider in relation to where the fish you wanted is.

Just seems kinda pointless to me.

Also, they broke fishing in waters with opposite bait type. I was trying the new guildleves for fishing tonight to see if I could gather the results from them, but I think I got maybe 1 in 20 bites using a crow fly in saltwater, so that method of targeting fish seems effectively broken.

So yea ive ran across the same issue, looks like the success rate of fishing higher grade waters have been severely decreased unless you are the proper rank. I was fishing gr4 with ease before patch, now its not nearly as easy. A lot more one-jig fails, and a lot less bites; still possible but not as lucrative nor as fun. So basically ill be going back to gr3 waters for a couple more ranks.

On the other hand i am loving the new fishing messages, depth specific fish and bait/lures having more of an impact on your catches.

It seems to me they may have effed fishing up badly.

Right now I am in Grade 1 waters just getting some mats for some LS mates from schools. I have never seen so many instant fish getaways or nothing bites. AND I AM IN GRADE 1.

I haven't gathered in days, I am not in fatigue or surplus, the moon is a good fishing moon and my gear is fully repaired almost. Something screwy is going on here, it makes no sense.
