Anyone know where we can fish these? im currently in a grade 10 spot in mor dhona in a hidden cave with no agro, looks identical to kuftal tunnel from 11 lol but nothing yet. Anyone have any idea's what bait/lure would be best? We must be able to catch it because its only rank 52 and i was catching blindfish at rank 25 and those are rank 38.
Also YG has info that its 4 wind shards + cave cherax = sand so someone must have caught 1 somewhere.

There are no logs or resourcepoints in the system that have pinpointed this yet. The only thing I can find is old information that states it can be found at Cassiopeia Hollow BUT this seems unlikely and may be BETA information. The fact that the data is in the database suggests that is was possible to find it during beta and may have been taken out of the game and that could be why yg has a recipe for it.

dont worry all my findings will be posted here asap, i'll go and check out cassio. gave up in mor dhona as i only have lures, only things im fishing up is crayfish, brass loach, maiden carp and pipira. Also il check for Giant Squid because im 99% sure iv already seen these in a retainer in a grocers ward.

Recipies exist on yg because they appear given for completing Culinarian Locals. I've recieved the Sand recipie including Giant Squid, Cave Chavex, Megladons, etc.

I've also fished up over 2000 fishy's from Cassy with various baits and lures. Crimson Crayfish, Blindfish, Lamp Marino, Crayfish, and Nether Newts are all that I've managed to see. Good luck with it though!

I am really hoping that _if_ these rare fish are in the game that they are, well simply rare and won't be popping up left and right. Otherwise, it would be nice to know if they do exist as i hate spinning my wheels for something that doesn't exist.

yeh i knew about the recipie stuff, iv even posted a couple here myself but what they do not tell you is the amount of shards needed per synth which is what i seen on YG, i spent an hour in cassio then i had an idea. Maybe they are in Mistbeard cove? anyway i went there and its grade 5, i caught blindfish,crimson and monke onke only. There is 2 big lake looking places to the west but you cannot access it the door wont open yet, so maybe Cherax are in there who knows. I'll try again when i get some decent bait.

I'm expecting legendaries to be School Fish only, but high grade areas... and they prolly just havnt opened the schools up yet.

I've been fishing the dif spots in mistbeard cove today, sadly I've only found G5, no G6 :/

Lots of Blindfish and crimson crayfish here, also normal crayfish, havnt caught any other fish though, and theres no schools in the zone.

Didnt see the post above me, anyway I tried the area he said, as well as the other spots which are a lot more difficult to get to (tiny little pools of water past yarzons, eyes, flans, jackals.... those are all G5 as well. One area I can't get to due to there being about 5 mobs on the actual fishing spot... also, hedgemoles look so sweet...

3x Wight Warrior's are blocking the last fishing spot in mistbeard cove :/

Just a small plea... If you are fishing these places where we have little information it would be great if you could log some of the items you find.

I am not asking to make full logs of every thing you catch but whenever you stumble upon something new it would be great to get a log with the information. I use these logs to update the maps and the more information we share the more information we have :D

Drar might be onto something that they might be exclusive to schools, high level areas, or high level schools. Even though they're used in a crafting leve recipe, they may not necessarily be programmed to be caught yet.

On a side note, I was looking at Black Sole and it seems they can only be caught in non-school Grade 3 waters at the Ferry in Thanalan, yet are a rank 40ish fish. So it could be that some waters have a rare catch, but in the case of Cassiopeia Hollow, I agree with Truvy that when you've caught thousands of fish in an area and never seen the rare one based on beta information, chances are it probably isn't there.
