Greetings everyone !

Today i decided to join the forum and be a part of a great and rich web that is full of info we all need which is hard to find, i would like to thank everyone on this web for their participation and the great info they provide to us! Thank you

I ranked fishing up to 18 by doing Leves only, now i decided to rank it faster by fishing on my own + leves, im always close to Cedarwood doin behest and leves there, i tried fishin at 33,32 cedarwood with Rat tail and it was hella fast bite and sp/exp! a lot of fishies too!(Binaq Bream i was aiming for) so after my rat tail ran out the disaster started... i used Goby Ball+1, Chocobo Fly,Lugworm, Spoon Lure, the only bait that i got bites with was Spoon lure and was not as good as the rat tail, lost most of the fish..

so i would like to know where i should be fishing in LL:

Position:
Bait/Lure:
Sweetspot:

Thanks again in advance :)

Rat tails are a special bait, much like Syrphid/Midge baskets. They are special in that they work in any grade (freshwater for the baskets) and get a super fast catch rate. Now since you're only R18, Cedarwood is technically too high for you (Rat tails/baskets dont care about rank >.>)

I would suggest either fishing Bloodshore (floating minnow or spoon lure, goby balls are good also) or tranquil (any freshwater bait/lure there is good, as long as it isn't higher then you're current fishing skill).

You won't get the SP like you did at Cedarwood, so I would suggest if you get any more rat tails to go back there.

Good Luck ^.^

NP, if you get to 20+ archer, or 25+ on other jobs I suggest you farm Hoverflys (drop up to 8 baskets each) or do Cedarwood Gnat leves (drop 5+ tails when they do drop em...) for baskets though I would suggest fishing at Iron Lake in northern La Noscea - will give you good SP there (G5).

Gnite!

I just wanted to add that Bloodshore can only be recommended. I have spent a lot of time there and I have really enjoyed it. The fish are not ranked too high so they are all pretty easy to reel in.

I started a bit lower than 18 though so maybe this is not optimal for you still but it's a great spot. Also I just found that the fish caught there actually sells. I have used most to level ALC and CUL myself but I ended up with a lot of surplus and this actually sold in the Grocery Ward.

:D

Thats nice Kida !

i have been lurkin in the web for a little and found great guides, but im not sure if i missed a guide which contains the following info:

Fishing Rank Guide With:
Where to fish for specific ranks in the 3 areas(goes from R1 fishin to R50)
Which Bait to use
Which Fish to aim for+its sweetspot

I know all these info are available here but i think not yet combined into one place to make the best fishing guide ever ! please correct me if im wrong :)

You are correct. So far there are not that many guides with information on the entire span from 1 to 50. Mostly people have just asked like you and answers have been given. I would love to see a complete ranking guide as this would be very useful to a lot of people.

A guide for fishing including all the information that has been gathered over time could be extremely great to have. I will see what I can do but as always time is not some thing I have a lot of and there are many requests BigGrin

Askin for a complete guide doesn't mean we r not appreciating what u do kida ! we really do :D i see many dedicated people here which is very promising, im sure there will be a day when we will see this web as #1 in resources for the Disciples of the Land classes!ThumpUp

Also a suggestion, u could start up a sticky thread for the complete guide, ppl will post and u will keep updatin it in the 1st page, so all u have to do is fill and sort the info and the ranks!

Could be something like:

Fishing Rank:
Area(preferred with POS):
Bait:
Fish/Sweetspot:

Hope its a good suggestion Unsure

It is a very good suggestion. I have actually started a "Complete guide to Fishing in Final Fantasy XIV" but it will take a while to get finished LOL. In the meantime it would be great to get some input on what people thought was the best location for the different ranks.

I will start a sticky... BigGrin
