A sweetspot is the perfect spot for a specific item. Mean: At this point, you've the highest chance to obtain the certain item.

But it has to be said: Just because you choose the sweetspot, dosn't mean that you now only get this certain item.

It is still possible to go 0/8 trys on an wanted item. This is for botany, mining and fishing schools.

Made up lingo for gathers to justify the randomness of loot rewards while gathering. People will swear up and down that X notch will almost every time get you the items you want, which is complete crap.

BigGrin

BUT! While gathering, you'll receive messages like, " ITEM X is right were you are at!" or "ITEM X is right below you" etc. (not the exact words but close enough). These messages hint to you of a area/notch where you will "most likely" obtain the item again. Of course there are abilities to help improve your odds, but for the most part that is what sweetspot means.

This isn't crap, its true.

If you read this post (http://www.disciplesoftheland.com/forum.aspx?g=posts&t=273) you will see a guide to exploiting sweet spots. The "remainder" gauge will tell you if its a common item or a rare one, I guarantee that if you go to only Oak trees, set the notch to -1, and heed the gauge you will end up with a massive pile of oak logs at the end of the day.
