I want this to make Sinking Minnow, so I have to find the bug for my alchemist friend to turn it into paint. -YG said that this is found in Iron lake and Nine Ivies. However this site resource and map finder shows that it is on Camp Hatali (3x spearfish spot) and Humbleheart (1 spear spot) and Bloodshore (1 spear spot) which are totally different than YG comment. I believe this site first, since we are DoL expert, so I go to Hatali which seem to be the best because it has 3x spear fishing spot that yield it. However, I m Rank 34 fisher and been doing this for 3 hours and only found pill bugs, mud water, and box turtle. Anybody can suggest me a best place to gather this? I've received Or bugs from Grade 3 points in La Noscea, but very rarely. I mostly get them from Grade 4 and 5 points in Thanalan, but uncommonly. You'll also get a bunch of other stuff. |

There are three spearfishing spots near Humblehearth where I have gotten Or bugs, but they are much rarer than the other bugs at these nodes.

I gather or bugs for my friend and I can tell you it is hard to find them. can get the odd one but not many. The main place i do them is Nine Ivies. What I do is when I run there get the two spear spots before the camp. Go to camp, activate the Young Northern Pike leve, and spear the 3rd spot at leve location. I then activate promising location leve, fish first spot, and then can re-spear that spot, go to second promising location (technically the first place you speared) and you can spear that. complete leve, and then go bugger off lol.
All up you get 5 spearfishing spots - i generally get 0-6 or bugs in that, so it isn't much, but all help. Also, I don't think all 3 of those spear spots contain or bugs, but needed to reset em :/
GL with them...
Note for Kida - I'll submit some info sometime on whats found in those spear spots, just been lazy lately with starting university. |

I get then from the Grade 5 node on the east side of Iron Lake. I can hit that node, run past the argo mobs , hit the mining quarry node in the little cave to the SE of the lake and one of the logging points outside of it, then back. This other 2 are a 1 hit and done so it goes pretty quick.

Thank for all the information, so basically these bugs is rare one no matter where is it.
Yesterday I got 4x bugs in the end at Hatali so I can confirm that it drop there, but pretty rare. I took me all days to get that at R34.
What is the optimize rank to spearfish at grade-5? I could only do it 2 times at gR34 (and R25 ability doesn't help). may be 36 or 38 will make this easy ?

at R50 with my gear and a Steel Gig +1 i get 6 attempts at Grade 5 Spearfishing nodes

I'm currently spearfishing at Halatali, but only 2 of the 3 nodes on the DotL map are actually there. The 3rd one (lower one in the cave) doesn't appear to be there at all, unless I am blind, so where is the correct 3rd spot?
