When I go logging I will now and then get an Eagle Feather.

I understand that the only use for them is to make Eagle Fletchings (rank 45 Clothcraft) and that these can be used only for Red Coral Arrows (rank 45 Woodworking) but to make those you also need Red Coral Arrowheads (rank 45 Goldsmithing) and Scale Glue (rank 44 Alchemy).

So all in all I guess not many people are using Eagle Feathers yet as producing anything useful with them requires quite a lot of talent.

So my question is: What should I do with these? Should I just NPC them or should I hold on to them until one day someone will be in need of them? I have the same issue with Swan Feathers (and a lot of other items actually). I don't really know what to do with these things.

I'm not sure if this really helps you, but a LS mate uses all the feathers we can get for him. In the specific case of Eagle Feathers we have a suitable weaver, goldsmith and alchemist (all different people) so he can do the finishing work to make the arrows (either for LS members or to sell). I spent a bit of time making 3 full stacks of scale glue yesterday for him, quite nice at 450sp a go BigGrin.

The point of this anecdote is the arrows are possible to make with a reasonable sized LS and as the feathers are not that common there could be money to be made selling them onward to crafters.

You may have a point there... there may be linkshells that can do all these recipes already. It just seems that there aren't that many people who wants the feathers yet but maybe I should try selling them and see what happens.

Only problem is there are so many different items that you should be able to sell but it takes a while to sell them. Then there is no room for the things that are selling fast. I would love to be able to offer Walnuts, Olives, Lettuce, Feathers, Chestnuts etc. but then I would not be able to sell the logs I know will fetch me a lot of gil very fast.

It's a shame that you are only able to sell 20 items at a time. At least we can now stack most of the stuff to 99 making it possible to sell quite a lot more before running out of space.

I appreciate your problem, I did think about it when posting and if I come up with a solution then I will let you know.

If you are on Cornelia then I am sure we could come up with an arrangement with your feathers. If not then you could check to see if anyone is actually selling the finished arrows, if they aren't then there is a chance no one is making them. Its probably not easy to do, but if you can find someone making them then a direct sale may be quicker then putting them in your bazzare.

I am on Wutai so that is a no go :D

Looking up people who are making the arrows or other products using materials I have, is a great idea though. I may try this out :D Thanks for thinking of this.
