At 31 76 gathering you get 4 jigs on pike but with random jig points it makes it slightly difficult. At R33 Id probably guess at least 30 pike per hour. The wildfowl didn't single out pike very well. Not sure if there is bait out there that would be a better choice.
Is southern pike hard capped at 1? I didnt get more than 1 per reel in.
The pikes are capped at 1 per catch.
Since you are R33, i really suggest you mostly do SP though. you can try the "grade 10 trick" since grade 10 water has low level fish and you get maximum SP doing that.
http://www.disciplesofth...m.aspx?g=posts&t=272Basically head to south of Bald Knoll where the grade 10 water is, use a sinking minnow, -3 depth. you'll get lots of SP since it's g10 water, and easy to catch low level crappy fish.
Conversation below is about g4 fresh water (which i fish in nanawa mines)There are two fish that bite at the right, and it's the blindfish and southern pike.
southern pike is far right
blindfish is right to far right
crayfish are kinda random ish from top to left
velodyna carp are top to left
and very very rarely you'll get a monke onke (if you are doing -1 depth) which seems to hit at top
even though you are -1 depth to get southern pike, you'll still pull up a crapload of carp and blindfish. the pikes aren't exactly a high %, so the ratio of fish you'll have at the end of the session won't be that far off.
since we are concentrating SOLELY on southern pike here, then the jigs are easy.
so let's start from beginning.
Cast your line
something hits/nibbles/bites
FIRST jig go in the middle, saves time
SECOND jig, since we are fishing for southern pike, go far right, hopefully you'll catch a pike
*****it should only take two jigs to catch pike***** (but that is based off my character)
*if it's not a pike*
if second far right jig states: the fish is taking line, then THIRD jig go slightly left from top, cause it's probably a velodyna carp or a crayfish
if second far right jig states: you are taking line, then it's probably a blindfish. blindfish are right to far right. since your second jig was far right, then that means you are close, which means jig to the right and you'll hit the blindfish.
