Vulture Flies, though slightly harder to come by, will net you about 15% more pike than using Wildfoul Flies in the same waters. They are still a favorite of the Crimsons and Carp, but the pike seem to bite on them quite a bit more so than the wildfouls.

you need to add vulture to your list for southern pike hehe. you have nothing listed right now :)

Yeah vulture flys have been added as a Favorite bait to the southers on my master index. (Incidently TopWater Frogs also added for Southern Pike and Velodyna Carp)

A word about Pikes for those seeking them (non-leveling):

1) Use grade 4 waters (southerns) as opposed to grade 5 (northerns). Your bite rate will be better and the end result is the same, as both Stuffed Cabbages and Earth Crystals can use either pike.

2) When you get the initial bite notification and go to make your very first jig, you can instantly tell if you have a pike on (This assumes you are R50 Fishing) as the "Remainder" bar will start off lower (for me the end of it is right above the end of the "h" in "Approach") where as all other fish in those pools will be a bit past it.
Since the jig locations are set, you can save much time by using this as a guide for where to make your first jig. If its a souther pike, hit it in the [4] zone, if not, I would recommend in the [2] zone.

Velodyna Carp [2 zone]
Crayfish [2 zone]
Blindfish [4 zone]
Southerns Pike [4 zone]

Alternativly you can always just start at the 4 and then go to the 2 if its not a pike/blindfish.

3) Know your Fatigue Pool, timer, and caps. Per each fishing session I don't reel in more than 150 times. Anything more than that and you run the risk of increased 'insta fail' jigs and loosing lures. Fishing 2x a day with 12 hours apart (from end of one session to start of next) will refresh your fatigue pool enough to keep that 150 reel in pace. Say 2 hours per session, and @ about 2/3rds of thos 150 being Pike you can get about 100 per session, and total of 200 per day. (milage varries of course).

DOUBLE POST - Wheeeee

Ok, since i had never fished this water in the mines i decided to go check it out (low on Earth Crystals). So the node is now added to our map database and you can log your own results there.

150 reel-ins
[-1] Depth
[LURE] Topwater Frog

85 Southern Pike
34 Blindfish
27 Veldoyna Carp
4 Crayfish

Those were reel-ins (not total fish caught) ...as my Blindfish total is about 70 and my Carp total just over 50. This is because PIKE can only be caught 1 at a time, and the lower fish can be reeled in as multiples.

Incidently, I also confirmed that:

Favorite Bait/Lure: Topwater Frog

Southern Pike
Blindfish
Veldoyna Carp
