Hello,
I was a pretty avid fisherman in FFXI and I'll probably be continuing to do the same in FFXIV. I'm one of those people that experiment with all of the bait and area combinations I can find, so I will submit any updates I find and edit this thread as needed.
Brass Loach - Chocobo Fly
Crayfish - Lugworm, Moth Pupa, Floating Minnow
Hammerhead Shark - Area: Cliff at Ul'dah ferry area. Bait: Bloodworm
Maiden Carp - Chocobo Fly
Pipira - Moth Pupa
Rainbow Trout - Moth Pupa
Striped Goby - Chocobo Fly
Tree Toad - Moth Pupa
Vongola Clam - Area: Ul'dah to Limsa Lominsa Ferry, Limsa Lominsa Dock.
That's all I have for now. Once I get up to around Rank 10 or so I'll be trying Grade 2 pools and hopefully come up with some new fish.

I noticed you are missing pictures for alot of items, do you need these, or just havent added them yet?
I can certainly get Vongolo clam and Ocean Cloud.
Also alot of the fish dont have the HQ version listed at the bottom, I think tiger cod, cloud, clam all have them and are listed in vids quide.
Oh and I was womdering about Depth, will there be any listing for that?

Thanks for the info... We made some changes to the system and lost some pictures in the process. There are still many fish we need pictures for and if you have them we would very much like them :D |

If u havent seen this this its a good database. I've been seling my fish thanks for the crafting guide it would be nice to expand. It would also be good to discover the best way to npc the fish we catch prob after synth http://aalea.skyfall.info/aalea-fish.php#GEAR

http://aalea.skyfall.info/aalea-fish.php#GEAR We are hoping to expand the recipe list but so far focus has been mostly on getting information on the DoL's. I think maybe we should add sell and buy prices of NPC's as this could be very relevant when trying to sell the fish that are caught. I was at the market wards the other day and had no idea what prices to sell my fish for (or other items for that matter). If you know the prices from the NPC you would know to put it somewhere between his sell and buy price. |

I got Iron Acorns from grade 4 logging points in Gridania. Since I was only rank 8 botanist or so at the time I was only able to harvest once per tree, but I did get acorns fairly regularly.

I got iron acorns from grade 3 trees in Thanalan... forgot to log it to the site since I was just passing through. >< |

Fishing on the coast south of Camp Skull Valley. In Aleport to be exact.
Caught a Razor Clam with lugworm bait. Was fishing in the more lower depths if that helps any.
