Snurble fly's favor all crayfish.
tested @ Cassiopeia hollow, confirmed crayfish and crimson crayfish.
went to Humblehearth, confirmed bone crayfish.
tested the performance of this lure on bone crayfish at Humblehearth, since the pools do not contain crimson crayfish.

here are my results:

zone: Humblehearth
grade: 4
depth: -4
weather: sunny
moon: waxing crescent
lure: snurble fly
rank: 50
gathering: 119
perception: 96
output: 90
Dex: 88
pie: 136
elemental: 84
ability's set: none
gear condition: 70% +

thanks to Sorrows cry for spending way too much time farming snurbles for the lures.
IF you would like me to test these lures anywhere just hit me up.

Good stuff and thanks for the re-confirmation!

I would like to see the results from in Cassy (to rule out Snurble flies for Blindfish, Nether Newts and Lamps)

Also, a good testing of the fly up un the Grade 1 pools in Thanalan north of Black Brush would be great (Loach, Maidens, Pipira, and Striped Gobys).

Aside from that, the following other fish havn't had much Snurble Testing:

Ala Mhigan
Black Eel
Black Ghost
Box Turtle
Dark Bass
Lava Toad
Northern Pike
Rainbow Trout
River Crab
Sandfish
Velodyna Carp

For best results, set your depth to each of these fish's prefered depth using the fly and record the result over say a good 20 reel-ins apiece. If you hook and reel in 20 of the same fish and don't get a Something Big bites message, its a good chance its not favored.

Any help you can offer on this is most appriciated and will be used to help populate the master favorite bait listings. Thanks!

Where do you find the snurbles? I can not find them where I saw them for the first time. I use to see them in the caves south of iron lake but they do not seem to be there anymore.

Snurbles are elusive and rumor is only appear at night. I do not know if they are a straight night spawn or lottery (lotto and at night very possible). THey have been spotted in the following places:

Lower La Noscea 33,37
Western La Noscea 17,16 (cave)
Eastern La Noscea All around "South Bloodshore"
Upper La Noscea 24,15 (cave)
Upper La Noscea 23,12 (cave)
East Shroud 47,24 (cave)
South Shroud 41,55
Coerthas East 40,34 (cave)
Coerthas East Highlands 49,12 (cave)
Thanalan East 48,21 (cave)
Thanalan North 18,14 (poss cave up there, good luck reaching it)
Thanalan South 44,45 (cave)

There you haz it. I would recommend waiting till night before looking and check the caves first. Likely lotto spawn so i would spend a little time killing off whatever you find in there.

Also, they appear to cast Protect III on those who try to kill them...as in, protect you. I belive this to be a ploy of cuteness in their attempt to get you to quit attacking them. Do not be disillusioned as the swift and unjudged slaughter of these small fuzzy things needs to continue in greater numbers for the greater good of the fishing community.

Thank you.

A lot of the snurble, mostly phurble, locations are lottery spawn. I spent way too long killing place holders to find this out. The drop rate for the snurble tuft is horrible, as you can imagine and their respawn rate is also low. As far as popping it by killing place holders. Be happy if you see a few snurbles or phurbles in a 2-3 hour span. I would recommend going to a cave that just has snurbles versus a cave that has place holders. Happy hunting ;)
