Hopefully we will see Culinarian food that is purchasable at an NPC skyrocket price wise so more people buy it from CULs.

Hopefully a price drop in materials will happen as well for some of the ridiculous ones.

Some interesting news concerning fishing from a translation: [my notes are in these brackets]

Gatherer
- Have ideas to change from the base structure but might take some time
- Would like to change what you obtain depending on the status [weather, moon phase?]
- For fishing planning a different feature other than gathering or crafting, no[t] making it more action based but making it where you have to decide more on the lure's or feeds [live bait] you use. [I'm not opposed to making it to where fish only bite on 2 or 3 baits opposed to the whole freshwater/saltwater spectrum (fish depending) like in FF11, but some people may complain about having to carry around a lot of bait. Will require us retesting all of the baits on each fish too.]

Lots of other interesting tidbits in this translation as well.

Very interesting post you have found. I would love to see changes to the gathering system but at the same time I dread it a bit after all the work that has gone in to this database BigGrin I almost can't bear to have all that work be wasted.

None the less... A better game would benefit all and we would just have to implement the changes necessary. I know that there will be changes to the recipes so we are already in need of some way to change this in the database. After all I think we have one of the larger collections of recipes all though it is not complete.

If I could just pull it from the game files LOL.

First saw this today about Ifrit battles posted up yesterday and today.

and this:

I like the gathering system as is but that's just me. Honestly, I got really sick of fishing as it has been for years since the whole bot issue in ffxi so I hope it doesn't turn into that. I do miss actual fishing gear though and endgame rods, etc.

I guess the game is pretty much headed to a ffxi clone though. If I can help Kida when the time comes with all the game changes just let me know for the site.

"For fishing planning a different feature other than gathering or crafting, no making it more action based but making it where you have to decide more on the lure's or feeds you use."

- huh? Don't we already have to use certain baits, lures for certain fish? I get redoing a lot for the game in some instances but people are going to start getting ticked off if they keep having to completely relearn, redo, re-everything they know up to now.

I don't get why they haven't implemented a AH by now if they are revamping everything in the game. lol.

I just want my ps3 release, some AF for other jobs, some fishing relic rods, fishing armor, more interaction with the guild in quests and fish contests maybe like in FFXI/Selbina and a zone with snow and I'll be happy.

To answer your question on the baits Vicious, in FF11 like only 3 or 4 out of say 10 freshwater baits would work for any one fish. That's what I was hinting at. Right now you can use ANY freshwater bait and catch all of the freshwater fish possible. There are the favored baits that will help you land a specific fish easier, but I'm just wondering if they're going to go back to where ONLY a few baits will work rather than some working better than others.

I don't care what happens either way personally. I know this site is going to have to undergo a huge overhaul between the news in the last two days about nearly half of the items in the game getting axed and only certain items being obtainable in specific areas for mining/botany and their secondary skills.
