Yeah all of the gear you have starts at 0% spirit bond. Also, any crafted gear prior to the patch is prefixed with "Dated" and cannot have materia socketed to it (or be macroed for /equip macros), but it can be converted to materia once you max the spirit bond. So if you have some gear that you don't have high enough crafting for and you don't think you will in the forseeable future, you might as well get it repaired and try to sell it in the MW.

I haven't had much time to look into materia yet. Trying to get pre-reqs out of the way to do Ifrit and get personal chocobo, etc.

Thanks very much! I do remember reading that information on the lodestone when materia was talked about in update notes.

I'm still only 26% done downloading the update, man its either huge or the download is being restricted somehow!

besides knowing what kinds there, carbonized matter, germinated matter, and
calcified matter, (I also saw petrified and fossilized listed on another site).. noone has posted any specific information on any site I know of including BG, ffxivpro, gamer, yg, lodestone, etc where to obtain them. Post up if anyone has info please.

I would think by and during the weekend there will be more information on Materia as a whole out there. People are compiling info as we speak pretty nicely with some posted results but nothing so far I've seen on where to get certain types of matter.
