Hi all, I've been doing some materia conversions since the patch and keeping the results. I made up a spreadsheet today combined with mine and another linkshell member's results and uploaded them to Google docs. Just by going by the current data, for the most part it's not worth converting anything under level 40 unless it's a materia people are paying well for because the market is pretty flooded with a lot of them, at least on my server. I think at this point your better served getting your lower level equipment repaired to full and then selling it on the MW. I was able to convert the following items:
Bamboo Fishing Rod --> Gatherers Guerdon Materia I (Gathering +1)
Dated Fishing Hat (Yellow) --> Dexteria Materia I (Dex +3)
Dataed Dodoskin Jerkin --> Wind Veil Materia I (Wind Resistance +2)
Dated Dodoskin Culottes (Blue) --> Loremans Wit Materia I (Int +1, Mind +1)
Dated Canvas Work Gloves -> Strength Materia I (Str +5)
Dated Leather Workboots -> Lifethirst Materia I (HP +8, MP +8)
Dated Dodoskin Field Belt -> Sagacious Might Materia I (Magic Crit Potency +16)
I had a look at the search counter in the market wards and it seems that my stats were higher on some materia than the materia sold in the market wards. Does materia get "reset" when you sell them?
Fx: I made Strength Materia I with str +5 but when I looked for it in the market wards it only had +3... So by selling you will loose some points? Or will the real value be displayed once you buy the item in question?
If so it is hard to know what to expect. |

Oh and by the way... the equipment was totally worth a lot more than what can be gotten from the materia LOL I should not have converted it from an economical point of view. |

Kida,
if you look more in the wards you will see people selling for lets say 500k. The materia they are selling has the +16 str so they are listing that one as the 500,016..I think what they have in the wards is just a place holder for the rest of the materia. I have a STR+16 and a STR+17 and I have not seen those listed..but if you try to sell them it still shows up as what ever you have. you won't lose anything off the materia...hope that made any kind of sense :S |

But then I converted a belt this morning that yielded the +healing tier IV and the lowest it was listed on the MW for was 10 mil. I listed it for 5, we'll see if it sells. Subsequently, I bought 10 more of those belts this morning. Consider it an investment. :) Also there's a few variants of the stats on each type of materia so the stat won't get changed to something else when you convert it. I think there's a list on FFXIVPro with all of the materia and the different stats it can yield. I'm glad to see that a gathering tool yielded a gathering materia. I'm guessing the crafting tools will do the same. Now I just need to find a Gilded Rosewood Rod so I can convert my Horn+1. |

lol that is really a smart idea for last 2 digi showing the status
well, SE dont give us the HQ list in searching, we can put +1/2/3 for the HQ quality too.

I used to sell all the +1, +2,+3 stuff that way just added it at the end so ppl knew I had the HQ stuff instead of looking all around for it. Also did they take away +1, and +2 things from the game now?..I don't mean your dated armor..I mean like, I have not fished up a +1 or +2 fish since update..just +3's thanks! |

Yeah, no HQ+1 or HQ+2s are gathered now, just the NQs and HQ+3s. Much better for inventory... |

Just a quick note to add that the producer said until they figured out how to list it in searches, the market wards search will show the lowest level item, and you have to actually check each individual item to see the real strength.
For instance, if someone is selling "Strength Materia I (Str+3)" and a "Strength Materia I (Str+5)", then it will show the lowest one in the search result.
I converted two Bone Ring +2 and got one "Mind Materia I (Mnd+1)" and a "Mind Materia I (Mnd+2)".

I have been trying to get Heaven fist, but always get something else. I can guess that they can be convert from MRD or LNC weapon.
Hope we know what exactly soon.
