This is just a suggestion from the cheap seats so feel free to say no, get lost or whatever man Laugh.

I know not everyone is going to introduce themselves on here but even though that thread is stickied it's just not noticeable at all and gets buried with all the posts every day.

And nothing about the forum it's in signifies it would be there really.

Be nice to have some of these people intro themselves with all the new people that have been signing up lately.

Can we maybe make a new forum for .. oh I don't know and this is just me thinking aloud.. intro yourself.. do you have a rules or faq on here? lol. Not sure I have ever looked myself. Something that you could put in a new forum so it's not just intro yourself.

You don't want a whole new forum for just one thread.

For instance on one forum I'm a member of this guy has a section called introductions and farewells then in that forum he has 3 stickies:

Announcement: Please Help Support Us By Donating For Server Costs
Announcement: Forum Rules! Please Read Before Posting! (01-25-2010)
Announcement: FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions / Answers To Common Questions
--------------------------------

and then everyone's intro posts.

All that is just an example of a intro forum. I just notice that we hardly get any introductions and I think that may be why.

Oh and a buddy of mine who just signed up mentioned this to me as well the other day. It seems we get alot of cross posting or same information via the General FFXIV, FFXIV News and General Discussion and General DOL forums. Almost sounds the same.

I noticed too that no one has posted in the private room since May. I actually forgot it was there. Anyway, not trying to step on your toes. As always it's your forum Kida of course. Just some thoughts.

Your input is always great and as you know... I value all input that will make the site better. I have also noticed that a lot of things are getting posted twice and I know that the names are a bit confusing. I will try to come up with a better way to structure the forums. All the forums have been pretty much as they were when I started the site and an update would seem appropriate as the site has grown :D

OK so I had a look at all the forums and tried to rearrange them a bit to make it more intuitive. Here is what I came up with:

All the gathering forums have been collected in one forum where there also is a General DoL forum.

I have removed the General Discussion from the General Discussion group and moved all the topics (most of them to General FFXIV).

I have added a new forum for DoW/DoM.

I have added a new forum for Off Topic

I have added a FAQ, Rules and Introductions forum

I hope that these changes will make the forum a bit easier to overview and that it will be clearer where what should be posted.

I am considering only having one forum per gathering class instead of three. At the moment the gathering forum is rather large and I think it would be better to only have 4 forums instead of 10.

Please let me hear your opinions.

everything looks good to me. Just correct: General Diskussion about Battling

and

I've always thought that intros and rules/faq on a forum should be at the top just because it's the first thing people see when they log on for new members but then again I wouldn't move that whole forum up there. You just need intro and the faq/rules up there I think. Up to you.

Everything else looks great.
