What materia are you guys using for your fishing poles and spears? I guess our spears can only take elemental resistance materia, so I guess it doesn't matter?

+16-20 PIE
+16-20 DEX
+5 Gathering
+5 Output

honestly I haven't even thought about it. While the extra stats would be nice I really see no point right now. I have 0% trouble catching anything I need in and out of leves. Same goes for having HQ gear in gathering. I can repair my gear and it wears down very slowly so I've just had NQ rods, gigs and whatnot. Personally, I'd go for output. But I have yet to even see a +1 output much less a +5, and I'm not rank 50 yet either so I can't use the best rod.
I just wish we could apply those stats to more slots of gear, I know we can for dex and pie, but the other stats would be especially nice.
