Well I have finally picked up my pickaxe (last class at 0) and have so far gotten to R17. I'm wondering at what level and location I can start to get iron ore at a fast rate? I saw on the maps that la noscea has it from G2 onwards, so was mining there, but it felt very slow (in about a hour only got 35). Any tips of best location and level to get these? (leveling off leves RQ with SoB, so if it's best at G5, that is NP).

I got mountains of iron in the L4 area outside Uldah (Nophica's Wells). Iron and Alumen are the common items there, and these appear in the L30 leves as well. It's a pretty safe area to mine at L25 with only a couple of aggro NMs, the odd random miteling and a few pockets of L30 (large) mitelings to contend with.
L30 leves have no aggro there, and you can mine most of the normal mining points without stealth. Probably stick where you're till 25 and then move over. |

Once you get the level 28 detection ability you might want to try Cedarwood. I've found that I get a ton of iron there, and you can also get Cobalt here to stock up for later or to sell. |
