So are these Fishing Spots only? I can't fish them up for the life of me otherwise. It is especially annoying to fish these up in bulk because the majority of the time I am pulling up bone crayfish, pikes, and carps. I was hoping to fish up a few hundred for Twin Adder provisions. :(
They don't seem to have a preferred bait, either. |

These are all good questions... I have never really tried to catch these. According to the maps you should be able to get them in and out of schools in Nine Ivies but I am not sure...
Any one else got some better info about the Monke Onke? |

they do pop up in the grade 4 thanalan waters, but damn are they rare! ended up with 5 full stacks of bones but only 30 or so monkes>.<. seems the problem is they have no preferred bait. good luck with these ones lol |

I was able to catch few in and out of schools in Nine Ivies using Valture Fly. However Monke Onke is extremely rare. Valture Fly is not a prefered lure though. Whether a better lure or bait exists I do not know, I was not targeting Monke Onke.

Based on some testing I did a while back, Monke Onke, along with Black Eel and Dark Bass, do not have preferred baits. The best thing you can do is fish at its sweet spot, but as others have pointed out, they do seem quite rare. |

I have recently done quite a lot of fishing at camp nine ivies (part of the luminary rod achievements) and they are not only in the schools there. They are quite rare though and far apart. I fished at the -4 sweetspot where they should be but still it will be far apart. The grade 4 fishing places in Humbleheart will also get you Monke Onke but once again they are rare. I hope you find some at one of these places. |

Not sure if someone has already confirmed this but Monke Onke can be fished in Mistbeard Cove Grade 5 fishing at -4 (Wildfowl Fly). Wildfowl Fly being the preferred bait for: * Blindfish & Crimson Crayfish. Edited by user Saturday, February 25, 2012 5:40:53 AM(UTC)
