Please note that the page also mentions Guild Marks. Trade them in if you have any because they will be reset.

Currently, the best Guild Mark -> Gil ratio is offered by buying Heaven's Eye IV materia. This only for-sure applies to my server (Ridill), but it likely applies to all servers. Heaven's Eye IV costs 86,000 guild marks and sells for ~2Mil (on my server). 86,000 seals direct-to-gil conversion (4 gil per mark) only gets you 344,000gil. I just made ~6Mil turning my guild marks in. Enjoy. I would've made 8Mil, but I mistakenly selected Heaven's Fist instead of Heaven's Eye in the first guild I visited. D'oh! Another potential use of your seals is to buy tier 1 materia to shoot for a Gambler's Crown (if you're into that). You'll have an unlimited source of materia (until you run out of seals), it costs you nothing (except the gear + catalysts), and you'll always get the lowest-value materia (which has the highest meld success rate).
