New JP Games interview with Yoshi translated. It seems quite a few things will not be ready in time for release: Quote:Yoshida: About the Crystal Tower and the chocobo racing and the free companies, we cannot have this right at the launch, about PvP … we hope to have it at launch but because of all the balancing issues and with me being a hardcore PvP-player we want to make it perfect before releasing. We might have to keep adjusting and because of that we might not make it in time but if that is the case we hope to have it at the latest within a few months after launch and hopefully at the launch. The same thing goes for the housing system, but we hope to have that very soon after launch as well.

So I may have asked this already but I have a handful of friends coming to FF14 for the PS3 version when it is released. Am I correct that they will not be able to get in Masamune or are they going to raise the character limit for various servers or maybe all of them? If not then I will have to leave Masa to go join them. Surely they are going to accomodate people for this as I am certain I will not be the only one in this situation. That is going to be huge if I cannot join up with them. Is there anything I should tell them to do now for ps3 only players.. anything they need a heads up on now or to get started on before ps3 release. I'm still not clear on who the betas are for.. pc only or is there going to be a ps3 version or do they get some free trial at some point? I'd like to believe that since the server code is getting updated (and the servers as well?), that maybe they'll be able to handle more characters.
I don't think we have any confirmation one way or the other though.
As far as PS3-users go, I'm not sure what preparation they could possibly do. We'll have to wait until more info about the PS3 beta. |

According to this interview with INCGamers each of the new servers can handle about 5000 people at a time, and will host both the PS3 and PC versions mixed.
