Not really a need with fishing but I cannot for the life of me find a Ash or Willow rod. I didn't get it as a reward from the skull valley quest or in the chest.
I've looked till I've about lost my mind and shouted in every city. nada. Does anyone on Wutai have one to sell and how much please? I'll be lvl15 by end of tom after doing more leve's.
I haven't worked in the craft to do a ash yet and from what I've read there is no synth known for Willow yet so I'm kind of at a loss and I'm sure this lvl1 rod is hurting me.
Actually one guy in Ul'dah was selling a Willow for 300k.. uh no thanks.

I think this is a general problem. I believe the first person to be able to make these on a regular basis will be very very very rich... so maybe you should try to find a way to make them ;)

what server are you in?
i am in besaid and i decided to level my crafting along side my fishing which means my fishing wont progress as fast as i want it :(
Anyhow i am going to be making some fishing rods starting with ash rods later today
not sure if there is an actual recipe for willow or not but i have never gotten any from the skull valley quests either so will keep eyes open and makes rods as my crafts progress to repair and create the new rods as needed

I'm on Wutai like Kida and some others on here.. too bad you on another server. We could all use you right now lol.
I was wondering if you could post some info on the Ash rod as far as recipe details, what lvl to make it, crafts needed, etc. Since we're on different servers we won't be comnpeting. Looks like I just need to do what Kida said and craft my rods myself lol.
Good luck on your Ash rods. No recipe for Willow that we know of yet.

some of the sub-crafts to make the iron wire needs to be 20~
make the ash lumber 15~
the reel need about lvl 15~ as well
so subcrafts will become essential in the long run for creating these
as well i been reading on various forums at level 20 goldsmithing you can do leve's for marks to get lure making i still have to get up there as of yet but working on it and as we can fish up corals which are used in various goldsmithing crafts it wont hurt to have it :)

yeah I get corals all the time even some +1's. I'll get into crafting more this weekend hopefully. ty for the info. |

I'm sure there are people in the ls who can make ash rods but just a fyi this taru is selling like 10 of them for 40k each. Tax Devilee on Wutai. It's lvl 7 rod but in case anyone is dying for one. |
