Dear user of this forum

At the moment a lot of you may have gotten into the alpha and later even more may get into the beta testing of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

I would like to congratulate you if you are one of the lucky ones who have received an invitation.

While it is very exciting to be part of this as it is something we have been anticipating for a long time I would like to stress that no matter what does this site accept breaking the NDA. Should I or any of the other moderators see that the NDA has been broken you will be banned from this site with out warning.

First rule of Alpha-testing: You do not talk about alpha testing.

The NDA is actually so strict that you can't even tell if you have been accepted in the alpha-testing. I had actually planned to make a closed forum for testers to discuss what could be interesting but this will unfortunately not happen.

And now please go enjoy the alpha should you be fortunate enough.

I was told that the NDA didn't say you couldn't say you were picked for Alpha, but like you, I was not selected, so I cannot confirm.

I edited my post.. it's Kida's site and if he doesn't want any info posted I'm not gonna do it even with my sig hidden and using a different character name. (I'm in the Alpha!)

I highly doubt they are openly banning all the people I've seen posting they got in the alpha.. can't afford to be banning players at this point for something as harmless as saying you got in... not sure how that hurts anything but whatever lol.

So I've read lately that we might not see 14 start up again until possibly May or April. Wasn't anything official. What is the expected end to all beta phases and start of at least pc 2.0. Read that ps3 might be delayed but are they planning on releasing pc and ps3 same time?

That might be why it all gets delayed or pssibly all beta phases just take longer than expected. Trying to tell my buddy when he should expect game to kick in again for pc and ps3.

There are no official dates for release yet because the beta hasn't even begun, or at least not that I'm aware of, since Alpha is still running. If they're serious about getting this right, they'll delay it as long as they need to to make sure release is smooth.

Yes, the PC and PS3 are supposed to release alongside each other. Then again, that was initially supposed to be the case with 1.0 as well and we all know how well that went.

I was told not to expect anything until July. I think late Q2 is a safe bet, but we'll see.

Well.. in that case I'm gonna play more ffxi until then. Man July would be a long time. I was hoping more of April/May. Oh well something to look forward to for the Summer if that ends up being the case.

From what I understand the Alpha is going so well they are considering a HUGE invite for Beta, so a lot of peeps will get to play to hold over until release.

It would be nice if we could play the beta with our original characters, in which case I hope it starts soon. Otherwise I dunno what to do with beta, don't much feel like wasting all that time leveling things up only to lose them.

Yeah there's only so much beta.. whatever phase.. I can do. Got better things to do in my time than lvl up and lose it all. I explore all the areas so I know them at 2.0 but they won't let us use our mains for any beta phase I promise you that.

I would like to add that I am not going to ban people from this site for just mentioning that they are in the Alpha. That was not the point of the post but I think I had to be clear on the fact that we don't wish the NDA to be broken and info about the alpha running free.

Regarding when the alpha is ending and beta is starting etc. I know that SE is working on a revised roadmap for ARR: http://forum.square-enix...8934?p=920710#post920710

I hope that we will get some more concrete information soon. I can understand the frustration of players not invited to the alpha and the annoyance of the beta not carrying progress to the finished game. This could mean a lot of "wasted" hours. I must admit though, that I really enjoy the alpha as I can play the game nice and quietly as I know all the progress will be deleted anyway. No pressure to get all the classes to 50 etc.

And as the final round of invitations have been sent out there is no more hope for getting in the alpha now. I hope that we will see the start of the beta soon so even more players can get in there and enjoy the game.

I've basically finished with the alpha now, everything's at 20 and every possible thing that could be crafted I've personally HQ'd. Actually haven't done Tamtara yet, but that won't hold me over for long :p

OK the NDA has been lifted so not so relevant anymore. There are still some rules so don't post video or audio but you can post pictures and information from the game so go ahead and share what you like :D
