So I'm taking this from official forum but I was curious as to what ya'll will be doing:

1) Starting over (I was end game)
2) Starting over (I was newer)
3) Completely New
4) I will be keeping my old Character

Gotta be honest.. I don't know what I'll be doing. Well that isn't all true. I will keep Allelujah just because of what time and effort I already put in to him. I don't really care about keeping my goobue mount as there will be other new mounts.

I am not really fond of being an elf or how I made him look but all that fishing, etc. It would be hard to just say screw it and delete.

The thought of starting new with all new players and a different server is enticing though. I'll bet anything that I make a new character and end up doing everything again but that would mean I wouldn't see some of ya'll .. noooo.

I could just use one of my 8 char. slots for a new start and stay on same server. I don't know what will ya'll be doing. Give it some thought.

Saw this posted too:

"I can't remember where I read it, but Yoshi-P basically confirmed that there will be servers for only 'brand new' characters - existing players could not transfer their 1.0 characters to those servers. However they can start afresh with new characters on that server. Servers which transferring characters will be transferred to will allow new characters to also be created (either by existing players or new players).

From what I remember he said this was because he wanted the 'new' servers with new players to start with a clean slate economy-wise and not be influenced or manipulated by high level players right at the start."

Well I think this is a really interesting question and I have also given it quite a lot of thought. I am definitely going to keep Kida Kalastus as I have most crafting and gathering classes maxed on this one. The thing is that I have hardly any DoW/DoM levels on this character and I am going to be hopelessly under-leveled on a legacy server. On the other hand I will be able to go through most of the low level content with this character while still having plenty of gil to make it all a bit easier.

I think I am mainly going to play with the old legacy character but will also make a new character on a new server just to get the feel of it. Might even make a new one on the same server as my legacy character as well. I am not sure though.

I think it's really going to depend on the circumstances for me. I can't bring myself to get rid of my 1.0 character, but I'm really enticed to try a brand new character on a brand new server with a friend of mine just for that brand new feeling.

The major factor of whether or not I keep playing my original character will hinge upon the time my LS leader (I guess it'll be FC leader in ARR) decides to log on. He always logs in like 2 hours before I need to go to bed, so it's really hard to do any content of any significance since he leads all of the events. I'd rather just start over new with my friend than go float over to another FC on my server.

Yeah those 2 years.. I didn't play just tons especially at first because it was so frustrating and then I went back to 11 for half a year for abyssea stuff. So I only have 2 jobs capped and all 3 dol's and most crafts lvl 25ish. Hmmm.. this isn't easy lol.

I plan on having at least 3 ls's or fc's or whatever they are going to be called and the first ls I was in with buddies from ffxi broke. Kida I really never saw you online much because of our time zones so while I'd like to have a presence on Masa.. I really have no ties to keep me there.

Ok so is it like ffxi where my main char now has 8 more char slots but those have to be on same server right or can I use one of those slots to put a new char on a new server and not incur any new charges? If that's the case I'm sure I'll jump on a newbie server with a manthra.

Your account will allow for 8 slots on one SERVER. You still have 32 more slots to play with across other servers if you so choose. :)

Deffinitly 4 and maybe 3 too. I'll keep my main(koroma) but i haven't decided what race to reroll yet was a moon mithra previously leaning twords either a mithra again or a new female roe. I have a pretty good idea for my new name, but i don't want ppl to call me by my first name still would want ppl to call me Koro so idk.

However i'm also thinking of making a new character and recreating my taru alt from ff11 since a simular hairstyle is availible, i'd want them on the same server anyways.

I'm in a simular boat kida my fighting jobs are all really low lvl, i was mostly a dol/doh character.

I do have a conjurer and a lancer at lvl50, and only 1 DoL/DoH each at 50... it might all depend on how bad fishing is. If it's really good I could start over, or not... I dunno >.<

I am definitely keeping my old character.

My THM is at 50 and I did that just so I can take part in more content when the mood strikes. It also means I am now more free to level DoL and DoH. My Miner, Botanist and Fisher are all at 32. My DoH are all between 32 and 36 except for cooking (at 20). It took forever to get them all there, but there is still a ton of leveling and exploring to do.

No way I am starting over!

you kidding me? with so many 50 jobs and those shining shining tools, of coz i will keep the old char and play with it.
for the low lvl content, remember SEX will open new jobs, so we can use those new jobs to play.
